guys want to jump t it too quickly. i have only ever met patient peopler at my friends church. i like one of her cousins and he likes me & i love that id be able to get to know him without worrying about sex, but im not planning on marrying, I don't know if christian guys who plan to wait , ever date just to date for the experience, or if it has to lead to marriage. i dont want to offend by asking.

It's quite an old fashioned gesture but most man still take this seriously. Because I've heard of fathers who's son in-law didn't asked permission to wed there daughter so they hated them for it because they thought the man didn't had any class. I also know about a case where the man asked for permission and he was turned down so he then gave up on the relationship and married someone else. I don't like the gesture because it makes me feel as if I'm my father's property and what matters is what I think of the man that I'm going to marry.
