So late last night, I ran across a question that I took a bit of offense to, not so much as personally, but for other girls. The asker was making a lot of presumptions, in my opinion. Her question was a loaded one now that I can think about it. She assumes that one is absolutely prettier than the other. The link is here.

I think she has a poor word choice that I know Id take a lot of offense to if I was dark skinned. Anyway, I of course answered (I would have asked on the account I commented with but the name is similar enough and the xper lvl isn't high enough to add a poll) and she commented something about Beyonce in the media because she is light skinned or something along those lines. You guys shoukd go to that link and read the question and my answer.

So I replied that it was true about social media having a huge responsibility on what is perceived as beautiful, but while I think that it has some weight on your mind when deciding who to ask out or flirt with, I can't bring myself to believe that the majority of men (and women) think about social media when they are at the club, or wherever, to not hit on a girl because she isn't light enough for social media. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and pretty is pretty. Others may not agree which is why I am asking.

Do you think social media has a decision changing influence, on who you date or flirt with, when it comes to skin tone/color? Please give a why or why not
