I am so in love with my long time friend (male), problem is he is taken and has been for a long time. Problem is I don't think she's a good person and definitely isn't right for him and I'm not just saying that because I want him, its true.

He's a nice guy who works hard and makes a lot of money but he doesn't expect a lot in return. All he expects is for his mate to have his back and help cover him when he slips up or forgets about something important, someone to have fun with that makes him laugh, someone who takes him at his word, someone drama free.

The girl he's with spends all his money unnecessarily, calls him all the time minute by minute and doesn't bother leaving voice mails, calls him for stupid reasons, and has a bad jealous streak.

I don't know how the relationship is going seeing as he's everywhere else more than he is with her. He's not the cheating sort but I don't get why he's with her. I assume its because he's supper skinny and despite him being cute he doesn't have the features women are naturally attracted to so I figure/assume she's either easy to tolerate and does whatever he wants despite what she wants or she's easy enough to tolerate he's settling because he doesn't think he will find someone else.

Or maybe he actually wants to be with her because she's great. Either way, I feel like I'm better matched and our chemistry is amazing and I feel like somethings there but since he's not the cheating sort he isn't gonna do anything..though he mentioned in the past that he's not afraid of breaking up with her.

But he and I click really well, we naturally vibe together and its as if we have known each other our whole lives and are so comfortable with each other. Though I wouldn't say we were close friends, if you didn't notice you'd think we were or were dating based on how we are with each other.

He's the only guy I've wanted to be with in along time and I do date but no one clicks well with me as well as he does and dating people just doesn't feel right so what do I do?

A lot of the couples I see around me are unhappy together. In some cases, one person wants to change a lot of things about their partner that they don't like, in some cases they argue a lot, etc.

It seems like a lot of couples are together for the sake of having someone and end up settling for and staying with someone who really isn't right for them. So my question is, how many of the couples that you know are actually happy together and seem like a good match for each other? Meaning they have stuff in common, they get along well, they're affectionate, they hardly ever fight, etc.

I think from what I've noticed it's about 50/50.
