About a month ago, a guy who I work with but only see on occasion liked me on tinder. I have a huge crush on him but have always been too shy at work to talk to him so I sent him a message. He hasn’t responded, and since he wasn’t making a move at work I decided to start talking to him when I saw him. A few weeks ago we were working together and we started goofing around and teasing each other. I smacked him on the arm in a playful way and a bit later in our conversation he smacked me back on the arm. I was super excited and hoped that meant he liked me. He was on vacation for a week so I didn’t see him again until yesterday. I was in the same room as him and was standing in his way so I accidentally backed up into a table and it made a loud bang noise and he looked and me and chuckled. Then we randomly ran into each other walking down the hallway and made eye contact for a second, and just as I was about to smile and say hi he quickly looked down at the floor and turned around and went back into the room he came out of and told the other people in the room he had forgotten to do something.
I feel like I’m reading too much into this and am just trying to find signs that he likes me cause I really like him.

Hi, I just joined marching band and I didn't know anybody because I'm usually very shy around meeting new people and I make new friends very slowely. I started talking to a boy in the band and I could be myself around him and we really connected and we talk all the time. He helps me with a lot of stuff and we are pretty much together a lot. I would consider him a good friend at this point. We have been talking for about 4 days and I know a bunch of his friends now too. He made me less shy and helped me open up around people because he made me comfortable around a bunch of people I didn't know. It's the first time that's ever happened to me. But now I think I am catching feelings for him and I really don't want to because I dont want to screw up the relationship we have now. I'm not good at picking up on if people are flirting but there is a possibility he was flirting with me, and I have no idea if I was doing it back. 😂 but I'm scared to even accept that I have a crush on him in the first place because when I like somebody I'm always nervous around them and I get shy but with him I'm not and I don't want that to change. He's becoming such a good friend and I don't want to screw that up in any way. But when I am around him and we are close I just feel a connection and I've never felt it before. I know it sounds VERY cheesy but I am not making it up! I don't know how to explain the feeling other than that. It's so weird! I don't know if any of this is making sense but if you read this far and have some clue on some advice to give me please do. Should I just ignore it? Wait it out? I'm so lost. My best friend told me I should tell him but I don't even think that's a possibility right now. What do you think?
