Okay maybe that didn't need such a dramatic title but I need help deciding things.

I am in a relationship. It's very serious. We've talked about marriage and I am aware that he has started saving for a ring.

IF there were going to be a wedding, however, it would be in 2017 at the earliest.

Today an ad popped up on Facebook with wedding dresses. On said ad was the dress I've seen on Say Yes To The Dress and on Kleinfeld's website. I'm absolutely in love with it.

In store the dress is $2,500. On this site (bridalup) it's $117.00.

I jokingly showed it to my mother (whom I am not super close with and so does not know that my boyfriend and I are discussing marriage) and she told me that she'd give me the cash to buy it.

She said that at that price if I change my mind whenever I get married I can sell it and probably make a profit. She said that if I absolutely loved it (which I do) that it probably won't be for sale whenever I get married so I may as well buy it now.

So... I am so tempted to get it so I can have it.

At the same time... that's kind of like putting the cart before the horse. We're not engaged. It'd be like jinxing it a little bit.

I'd keep it in the back of my closet at home in a bag and tell no one. But I mean.., still...

So... she's basically telling me she'll buy this dress that I love, no strings attached.

Do I take her up on this offer?

It's strange how I ended up here. I was adamant about sex after marriage, and I even thought I was asexual. However, after I met him, I felt... different.

I met him online (off a pilot's forum). We were talking about innocent things for a month, but then he started mentioning what my body type is like. After describing it, he said he wanted a full body photo, but immediately apologised if that made me feel uncomfortable. I sent him innocent ones next to the plane.

Then, he started hinting that if we met, we'll do more than kissing. I asked him if he has ever dated before weeks ago, he said no. So this time, I hesitantly asked if he was a virgin. He said yes. Then we starting sexting (roleplay, no naked pictures) and we discussed about the possibility of a long term relationship and leave sex for later.

He is 20 and I am 18. Do you think what he said is the truth? I find it... hard to believe. I thought it's a fair trade to exchange virginities.

I’m in my late 30’s and for 10 months I've been dating a man that has been separated from his wife for 18 months now. My kids know him and he’s very cool with my two teen sons. When we first started dating we both agreed that neither one of us was looking for a serious relationship, but it just kind migrated that way over time. I know all his family and have spent time with them on many occasions. I haven’t met his teen kids yet though. We don’t go to church together because he still attends church where he and his wife attended when they were together and she still attends as well. He feels it wouldn't be right for him to bring his girlfriend to church while he’s still married and I agree. However, when I bring up what he’s doing about his marriage, he says he’ll deal with it in his own time.

We've discussed a possible future, but I don’t see how he can be serious if he isn't even ready to end his marriage. He asked me to be patient, but I decided recently to end things. I’m an attractive, financially stable spiritually grounded woman and have a great career that I love. I ended things because I feel like the other woman. He says I’m not but that’s how I feel. I ended things and told him to go get his life right and come find me when he can be a man who is proud to proclaim me as his girlfriend to any and everyone. He says he loves me and I’m not being understanding since I've been through a divorce myself. But I told him I know my worth, I love him but I loving him doesn't mean I should have to compromise my love for myself.

I’m asking for people’s opinion because since this didn't start out with the intentions of being more, am I wrong for, not being patient? If he could tell me he was definitely ending his marriage I would have stayed in the relationship. But I have self-esteem … And I just think if he really loves me and wants me in his life, then he’ll figure out his marriage and get his life in order to be with me…

In my classes and in some of the literature I've had to read, there is discussion about how it's difficult for women who pursue post bacculaurate degrees have a harder time finding a mate and have lower marriage rates. Part of me think that this is a bit far fetched. I was going for my masters but I have decided to go for a second bachelors in another field altogether. My ex was supportive of me being in school and even encouraged me to get back into dancing (tf?). Do men find it intimidating that a woman works for a higher degree or do you find it confident, ambitious, with a bit of sexiness? Men and women can answer this question. Let's discuss!
