My emotions are usually very intense, so I can’t tell if I like him a lot or if I’m in love. I was in love once before, and this feels the same. But I’m not dating this guy. I haven’t even hung out with him outside of work.
We don’t talk a lot, but the eye contact between us has always felt so intimate and charged. I’ve never had “conversations” with only eyes like this before, and I really actually kind of hate it. It’s a distraction. But I can’t look away from him, never could. Not since the first time I saw him. There’s something about him, the way he interacts with the world or his eyes or smile. When we talk, he’s very kind and I find him fascinating. Lately, I’ve been thinking about my future and maybe having a family, and he just appears in my mind as the person I want to do that with. This isn’t even like me. I never even wanted kids, but since I met him I’ve been thinking maybe I do. There’s something about him that just feels like home to me.
But how can I be in love with him? I don’t know what he’s like when he gets really angry or hungry. I don’t know his family or friends.

All i see is this soft human, with kind blue eyes and sleepy hair. And I feel like I love him. This is crazy.

Hello everyone, I’m curious to know if autism is a dealbreaker for dating someone.

Long story short — I’m autistic. Everyone experiences it differently, but for me it looks like this.

I can’t tell when people are angry or sad, especially if it’s at something I’ve done. I can’t read between the lines when people talk. I’m extremely awkward and have a hard time with small talk. I get super uncomfortable and upset with loud/sudden noises. I’m also extremely honest, and can often offend people, but not on purpose. I cannot lie, it’s almost impossible. I also have a monotone voice, and hardly ever express emotion, so this may make me seem more boring at first. I get obsessed with things, and obsessions with autism are known as “special interests” where I talk non stop about some certain subject and I just learn everything about it ^-^

But basically, the biggest challenge for me is just being suuuuuper awkward. I’m also known as the tall lanky kid who plays video games all the time lol.

I’m just wondering if autism is a dealbreaker for you guys? Just curious and bored at 3AM, so thought I’d come here to see what you guys think.
