I'm going to keep it short. Long ago my mother's good friend cheated with her then 1st husband and a child out of that affair was born. She divorced him and later on met my father and remarried.

6-7 years down the road... that woman had a cervical pregnancy and nearly bled to death. Her blood type was AB negative; rare one. It turns out my mother had the same blood type and willingly chose to be the blood donor, saving her life. In my mother's defense, it was in her power to save a person and not let an innocent child without a mother. In her stance letting her die when she can stop it would've made her just as bad. She forgave her in the process. Even though their friendship never really got back to the way it was, they're on ok terms (cordial basically) by now.
