Strangers. They/we're everywhere. Anyone you don't recognize, who seems to be a little different, perhaps a strange ethnicity compared to the rest of the people you see in your locale, or someone dressed quite differently, that acts with different mannerisms...

After 9/11 everyone seemed to be tuned in to the potential ramifications. Would this mean the bombings seen in so many parts of the Middle East would start happening here? We even had a threat level implemented, to let us know how scared to be.

Where I'm at right now, in the South, a small town, there are "suspicious people" link everywhere. Suspicious of me, as an outsider, suspicious of the way the neighbours act, etc.

Sometimes I feel like we live in the United State of Paranoia. And before the hecklers lash out, I know that there's a need for increased security. What I'm talking about here is the level of distrust for everyone, not just people who look Middle Eastern.

Acid Reflux is at an all time high - the level of nervous tension in our bodies causing them to spew our stomach contents back up into our throats. Xanex and other anti-anxiety drugs are given like candy at the Dr.'s office.

What are your thoughts, about your own experience in say, the last 6 months? Are you more or less suspicious of others since 9/11?
