During school I was part of a large group of friends that was centred around one particular guy, he was like the pied piper and everyone followed his tune. We were really close for about 7 years.
Then in the last year of school I fell hard for a girl and she knew how I felt about her. She had me running around after her, buying her things taking her places basically wrapped round her little finger. I was 'bullied' by my 'friends' for liking her but the main guy in the group liked her too, he could be very charming. Fast forward two months and he was sleeping with her... unbeknown to me as she was still making me run around after her (I am a virgin by choice). My friends all knew what was going on and didn't tell me. .. He found out I was also going out with her and she turned round and claimed I had been stalking her. He then started sending me abusive texts and e-mails and turned all my friends against me I was ostracised and became a complete loner.
Five years later I was contacted by one of my old 'friends who is a decent guy and he said "I am so sorry mate I now know what _______ is like and feel really bad we all treated you like we did, do you want to meet up? I accepted and went round to his place, met his gf and baby and we sat chatting for hours as if there had never been a problem. It turns out the guy who caused me to be pushed out had been secretly sleeping with everyone's girlfriends behind their backs and they had all fallen out with him, hence wanting to re-gain contact with me? My question is if they were that good as friends why did they all tum on me all those years ago and why couldn't they see what he was like all those years ago.
Also, a lot of people I know know him and think the sun shines out of him including the girl I am crushing on who I met only recently she is absolutely lovely but has probably warned off me by this guy. Wow, I needed to get that off my chest!
