I'm publishing an e-book and I've come to realise that I have no clue how to structure the text. When working on novels, larger blocks with indented paragraphs works because it fits onto the page, but with an e-book there is less text per page and so even small paragraphs can turn into a full page of block text.

I'm torn between two ideas and would appreciate suggestions from those of you who either read e-books (via a kindle or other device) or have published similar books yourself.

Idea 1 - Should I divide the text up in a more traditional manner, regardless of how it will appear on the device's screen i. e. keep all related content within a single paragraph and only separate that paragraph into smaller chunks by taking a new line and adding an indent.

Idea 2 - Should I simple divide the text up so that there are only a few sentences per paragraph in order to break the text up for the reader. On their screen, these sentences would take up maybe 1/3 - 1/2 of the screen, but would then be separated by a line in order to avoid big walls of text across the entire screen.

My thoughts are that the 2nd option would work better because if the reader finds the blocks of text a bit tedious, they will think less of the book and may stop reading before the end.

I almost got attacked. I have in the past but defended myself. I have been wanting to take self defense classes. Do other guys take self defense classes and would most people advise that everyone take self defense at some point? Would i be “whimpy” for taking classes? Any advice/ opinions and ideas from guys and gals please.
