I work in a Hospital as a junior doctor. We have doctors of all backgrounds working here, 95% of who were born and bred in Australia. About 50% would be Caucasian, 20% East Asian , 20% South Asian , 10% other.

Everyone seems to get along with each other, and we help each other in swapping shifts etc.
However, when it comes to joining others for lunch, or hanging out, Caucasians seem to have an issue with being seen with an ethnic. They neither accept our invites, nor invite us.

I was shocked that for Australia Day, they all went out for a little holiday without inviting any ethnics along whom they've known for 2 years and who helped them out with many things. However, they were more than happy to invite Caucasians who JUST joined 2 weeks ago. I feel insulted..like ethnics aren't Australian just because we're not white.

Even though I try to live without prejudices, I am sick of the amount of subtle discrimination I have to face as an ethnic, even though I'm born and bred here. As a result, I'm tempted to return fire to Caucasians, refuse to help them out, silently put down my juniors (e.g. when asked for a supervisory comments, make them feel like they're not good enough even if they might be good) - that happens to me way too often, and when I ask for a justification, senior Caucasian supervisors usually say something like "it's just a general feel that I get" and they won't be able to back up their statements in black and white cases. If I tell them about all the skills I've acquired and things that I've done which are beyond my level, they'll just brush it aside like it's nothing. These reports are a stark contrast to what an ethnic or a non-judgmental Caucasian would give me.

Likewise when it comes to dating or social outings etc., ethnics are just not accepted.

Note, I have photos of major events where you won't see a single ethnic but would be expected to be there. Plenty of them for evidence to prove my point.
