I am stuck between staying silent and saying something. I want to tell him that I like him more than a friend but I am deathly afraid that if he rejects me he will cut me off completely. I only say this because I once heard my brother talk of a girl who confessed she liked him and how he had to cut off ties with her now because of her confession.

-- What if I told him how I felt and he cut me off completely, like my brother is to this girl?

-- I would never see his smiling face, hear or read the silly things he says.

It would be more painful never to see and hear from him again.

I don’t want to lose our friendship over this so if there is an obvious sign I am missing please let me know.

Like for example we went to highschool together and would hang out at school. We had a class together and I never noticed it but he always seemed to know when I was having a bad day and would make me smile. I was shy and meek in highschool so I do not know if he was just being a good friend or if he liked me. He was the type of person in Highschool who was friends with everybody. So I might be romanticizing that he cared for me more than a friend. I moved away my senior year of highschool so I never got the chance to ask him to a dance, a way I thought I could test the waters on his feels. It has been 8 years since I have seen him. We are facebook friends but we do not message each other expect the standard Birthday and Holiday greeting. I do not even know if I cross his mind like he does mine sometimes then I look on his facebook and see he is doing fine.

But, he broke my heart on April Fools Day (I had not notice till the end of the day the date).

Okay i turned 21 about a month ago , I thought i didn't mind back then but I realized that not only it did bother me but it will bother me for a while. 2 years ago this girl befriended me on our first day of college , scratch that , she actually approached me on the signing up day , we hang out everyday in college , when it's weekend or holiday we still remain in contact via messages and sometimes we talk on the phone for hours. We match very well (as friends of course) and i really think highly of her (otherwise i wouldn't be bothered) , well on her birthday i always make sure to brighten her day by faking ignorance and next thing she knows a present is shoved into her lap. It's true that my birthday is in the middle of summer vacation but she could at least send a message or call , but she didn't for the past 2 birthdays (i thought it was okay for the first birthday since we've only known each other for a year but we went through a lot for the past 2 years) . Am I making a big deal out of it?
