Search Results: girlfriend is away for the summer

So, my boyfriend and I have been dating for about 4 months now, but we've known each other a total of 9 nine months, being friends before we entered the relationship. He has a daughter, and has been looking for ways to get custody of her, and now he may have a way. He told me last night-over the phone since we're 9 hours apart over the summer-about all that's happened and that they may get legal help if they can afford it.

In the past we have both agreed that should he get custody of his daughter, we would probably break up so that he can be focused on her. I would not want to be a girlfriend who takes time away from his daughter and her dad. I care too much for him to be that kind of person. It would be hard enough to be a single dad still in school, let alone one with a girlfriend he would have to dish out extra time-time he doesn't have-for. I'm going to be supportive of his decisions, and I want what is best for both him and her. He told me that right now it's just a lot of what-ifs, but those what-ifs could very well turn into reality.

So, my question is what would you do in this situation? Would you stay with him even after he gets full custody? Or would you leave?

I could really use some feedback for those that read this.
