However i had noticed him (he was cute), then because we have mutual friends we started hanging out together and i am pretty sure he is interested in me, last week he left me chocolate with a really sweet note... My crush is my guy friend from Japan. While he was studying here, he would ask his parents to send me birthday presents that he knew I would love, and talked about me to them. Nowadays he Skypes me and his family know this, and wait until we are finished to eat dinner. I heard that it is a big thing for a Japanese guy to tell his family about a girl.
I guess it is a big deal in any culture, if the guy is shy...

So what are your thoughts on a shy guy telling his parents about a girl?

I had an ex, we were together for 1.5 years, the .5 long distance because I moved to another country.

I recently got close with one of his friends - I've know the guy from my ex, and he's a really good guy. We share the same values, and he has the characteristics I want in a boyfriend (honesty, humor, etc.)

We got really close really quick, even though we were long distance. We chatted all day, snap chatted, and Skyped (up to an hour). He said things like "You're beautiful" and "You make me happy too" and made plans for us to go somewhere when we got back, wherever I wanted, anytime I wanted.

Suddenly he tells me that we can't chat anymore, because he's busy for a national exam coming up, we're long distance, and my ex.

I asked him about how he felt about us and he said to me "I like you, but as a friend, not a girlfriend. I'm so so sorry if I've seemed like I'm playing with you. I'm telling you while we haven't gone too far. I'm confused, it's my fault. I know your ex isn't good for you, but at the moment, I'm not good for you either, I can't care for others and we're long distance. I really want us to be friends and not enemies" but he also said "I've never been this close with a girl, and I've never felt this comfortable with a girl"

I sent him a birthday present that's still on the way from when we were close.
I made him a digital portrait, which he made his profile picture and then his sister and her friend commented saying "wink wink you know that i know" and he told his sister "why did you tell?" my ex also commented saying "hey your girlfriend is looking for you" and he coldly brushed him off (he doesn't have girlfriend)

We chat sometimes, usually I initiate but he has too, he opens up about his day & feelings, but it's rarer and it's cut off suddenly and hot and cold, but we've just made plans to have lunch together and to have him teach me how to play the ukulele.

I don't get how he feels - please help me. Sorry for the long post!

I recently started talking with one of my ex's friends (not extremely close, but they are friends) and we've known each other for a long time - his (the guy) sister used to be my senior in a club we went to together.

We got really close really fast, even though we were long distance. We chatted the whole day long (with intervals because we are both quite busy) and snapchatted and Skyped (nearly up to an hour) and he told me things like "you're beautiful" and made plans with me for when I got back.

Then suddenly he tells me that he can't chat with me anymore, and that he's confused because:
1. It's long distance
2. He knows my ex
3. He has a really crucial national exam coming up April next year.
He said that I'm the first girl that's made him confused like this, and that I make him really comfortable - he even said he's never been this close with a girl.

Then when I asked him how he felt about us, he said that "I like you, but as a friend, not a girlfriend. I'm so so sorry if I've seemed like I'm playing with you. Basically, I really like this guy and it would be the best thing ever if we could get together, but he lives about 3 hrs away, meaning we don't meet up very often. He also doesn't text or anything, unless I intiaite the conversation, which I don't want to do too often in case he thinks I'm nagging him. But it's his birthday coming up, and I thought it would be a great oppurtunity to show him that I care. He has a condition called Renauts Syndrome, which means his hands and feet are always cold, so I thought I would get him a hand warmer (and some other stuff too). Is this a good present for him, and do you have any other present suggestions? Please comment!!! :)

Ok so things ended with my ex about a year ago now, it ended really badly and the relationship itself... well he was a jerk, put me down and made me think little of myself treated me really poorly etc (I didn't put two and two together and figure this all out until afterwards) I've since started dating someone new and have been with him for a few months and he's great, respectful etc. Pretty much I couldn't be happier, except for one thing. My stupid jerk ex keeps showing up in my dream, I've been over him for a long time however I still have very negative feelings toward him which I've been working on forgetting because I want to focus on happiness... In the dreams it's not like wanting to be with him or wanting to cause harm to him, it's more like I'm still with him but I somehow know that I'm not really and can remember that I'm actually with my current boyfriend, there's no physical contact of any kind in the dreams, it's just like I'm in the same room with him in the same way I had been many times during that relationship, and in one or two we conversed however I can't remember what about but I know it wasn't about much of anything, and in the most recent one he and his roommates (who I also very much dislike) all three gave me birthday presents (my birthday was about 2 weeks ago) no one said anything, and in the one from my ex there was money (I'm assuming the money he owes me), I still knew that I wasn't really still with him but I was in the dream... Do any of you have any ideas on what it means?
