I began speaking to him on a dating app earlier last week. I didn’t answer consistently at first cuz he wasn’t asking questions and was basic. I was blunt with him about it going no where and the conversation picked up. We are scheduled to have lunch this weekend and meet up.

He told me at 1st that he was looking to meet new people and see where it went. I said I wanted the same but I don’t like hookups. And he said he’d prefer to not hook up either but isn’t opposed to it if it ever came up.

He has bad relationship history (cheating ex’s) and I mentioned that I have trust issues too (as a joke). And he said he hates dating and isn’t in the state of mind to date. And I asked him what he defined as dating. He said having a girlfriend.

So I asked again if all he wanted was a hook up and he said no. He is open to meeting someone to date/be in a relationship with. He is taking it as it comes apparently.


We have spoken via Snapchat everyday and he has never said anything inappropriate or implying he wants sex so far. The only thing that stands out is: he has 2 shirtless pics on his dating app AND goes to bed super early on the weekdays. Like 9:00 AM. For “work”. I’d say it’s because he probably has a girlfriend lol

An ex love interest asked for my help should hear him out?

I had history with this guy years ago, i blocked at some point when was mad at him untill then a year later when he contact me a gain and we made peace I guess? He then asked if i still had ferlings for him and he tried to get together ( possible hook up) i turned him down, he tried to get with 2 of my closest friends afther that, he even asked my help to hook him up with my close friends (they did not want him). Now recently he said he was in trouble asked for my help i asked he had then solved his problem so i did not really bother to find out what happend but then he left a cliffhanger wich made me curious, but still he what happend, he said he would tell me later but never did, i thought this persons life was in danger did not hear anything for a week or 2 then later i find out has a new relationship (which not last long, he's single again) before he was okey he did not bother to say anything... now he's back and askes for my help again but i am not sure if should even reply should I? It's not like he does not have his own friends and family who can ask

If yes: why do you keep in touch? Is it because you don’t want her to feel used? Is it because you want to keep the door open in case you may want to sleep with her again? Or do you do it only if you like her and potentially see her as girlfriend material?
