I got along super well with this girl at another store of the company I work for.
On my last day at my store, I asked her out when I went to pick a load up and she said she was flattered, but had a boyfriend.

Months later, I was rehired at her store, but she left to go back to school.

She just came back to the store for a few weeks, and I subbed at a different store for a day. I ran into a friend of hers, and she said that the girls boyfriend cheated on her and she was single now. She also mentioned the girl I liked is kinda socially awkward, and she and I would match well.

Today, I went up to talk to her, and she looked at me super confused. But I thought I just interrupted her work
I went up to her on my way out and she looked even more confused why I was talking to her.

What happened? We saw each other 4 times a week for 3 months cause I came to her store so much.

So yesterday, there was a substitute for my fist period class... and she wanted me to hold the door till the bell rung, since I was there rather early.

Then came some people in... and some more... then this girl said "hello" to me, and I was kind of zoned out for a second so I only said it 1 or 2 seconds after instead of right away, and she just giggled and walked into class.

A zoned out guy catching himself and realizing he forgot to say hello and then quickly saying it isn't a necessarily funny thing, so she might have at least some interest in me, if you ask me. From my knowledge, when a girl likes a guy, she giggles at almost all he does, even if it's not actually funny.

But then again, I might just be misinterpretting the situation altogether since I'm just sort of a lonely socially awkward fuck... lol.

Prior to that did she show any affect towards me... maybe? Lol.

One time she held the door for me as I was walking out, and I said thank you and she said you're welcome. Another time I was just in a group by myself, but at least 3 people were necessary, so she and another girl joined me. But that time she acted rather quiet and awkward.

If it matters, her usual attitude towards people is that she's a clumsy girl who says a lot of silly stuff. She runs for track, and is kind of tomboyish. But at the same time, she's into fashion/style, and her female friends keep calling her "so cute."

Perhaps this isn't even worth discussing in the first place, but I'm just wondering, ya know? Lol.

A healthy relationship is focused on you and your partner and not giving a damn what other people think. But let's face it, most people worry about their reputation and having an ideal partner can be a reflection of your value and desirability.

Stereotypes single women face (gets worse as they age):

- too neurotic
- too feminist
- lacking feminine wiles
- doomed to be a childless spinster from the ovaries drying up
- selfish

Stereotypes single men face

- socially awkward
- creepy
- loserish
- gay (this is a bigger insult to straight guys than most women know)
- immature

I feel like both single men and women sometimes feel driven to dating to avoid these stereotypes. Admittedly I stayed in two long-term relationships because I noticed more respect among my colleagues, family and friends that I was seeing somebody. I was thrilled to change my FB status to taken. The most disgusting result is I noticed LOTS more attention from other women. I fucking hate that, because I'm loyal and was wondering where the hell these women were when I was single and lonely.

I'm currently single right now after many frustrating, money wasting, time wasting, effort wasting and heart wasting dates. But I do have friends with benefits going on. I do still get laid.

But it dawned on me a month ago the biggest motivator I had to keep dating was because I am sick of people judging me. My family is the worst, but my friends and colleagues have in the past too. Fuck what they think.
