my (kind of) ex tried getting in touch with me a bunch of times over the last few months before I responded again. we stopped talking because things got dramatic when he got jealous that I kissed another guy, although he wouldn't admit it. the reason it was dramatic was because we weren't "official" and it was because he wasn't ready for that yet (baggage from past relationship). I went traveling for like 5 months when I started to hear from him toward the end. I wouldn't answer, but after like the 4th time I finally did. We saw each other a few times and it was really just wonderful, it was like nothing bad had happened, but we didn't address any of the big issues either. like a week ago I tried to kind of address those issues. he got really upset and just wanted to literally run away from it. he told me "you always do this" but I just don't know what he means by that. when I told him if you leave I'll never talk to you again he got visibly bothered and said things like I know you don't mean that and please don't say that. We couldn't get through it, and I asked him at the end if he would like me to call him to talk about it another time and he said yes I would like it if you called me to talk about it another time. I told him I cared about him, he said I care about you too, I told him I really had missed him, and he said he had missed me to, that's why he had called. I haven't talked to him since then, I'm scared about how to approach this situation. it's pretty clear that our relationship needs more boundaries and feelings are involved so it must be somewhat serious. does anyone have any advice for me on how to approach this when I talk to him? I'm not asking for like marriage here or anything, just more than a stupid fling. I feel like he must want that too, why else would he be back and be talking to me like this?

I'm seeing a guy again after we broke it off about nine months ago because he had commitment issues left over from a previous long term relationship. we've seen each other three times now, he called me quite a few times during the summer and that's how we got in touch, I finally decided to call him back. everything has been really good, but we haven't had a talk about what we are. I feel like he must know I want a relationship, as that's what I wanted before and the reason things got all screwed up between us, he wasn't ready. He's been very gentlemanly I would say, and even though we have had sex, he doesn't push it and didn't push it when the first time we saw each other I didn't want to. the first time we hung out he told me he likes me (kind of knew that already, he'd been calling all summer) when I asked him what he wanted from me he said he didn't know, which is actually different from the past where he mostly specified very specifically that he did not want a relationship. We've hung out during the day in a park, and been out to dinner twice, after both of those times we did have sex and I stayed over. Last night was the third time we hung out, and I asked him I think twice about whether he had good intentions and he said he did. I hope he wasn't just trying to appease me because that's usually not his style, and he has been clear in the past about not wanting to "hurt me" and whatever when he wasn't ready. So I'm not sure what to make of things, they seem to be going well, but can anyone give me a better read on how things sound? I really want to move toward something committed, but I'm scared to have that talk with him even though we've been having such a great time together.

I just started seeing a guy again who I haven't been seeing in about 9 months because things ended because I wanted something committed and he wasn't ready and not over an ex. we've seen each other once so far after he called me multiple times to get back in touch, and it was wonderful until the end. I was a bit intoxicated and got kind of confused when we were saying bye. he said it was great to see me and I kind of immediately blurted out something along the lines of well when am I going to hear from you/ talk to you again/etc he immediately tensed up I remember, and I would never have acted like this if I had been more in my right mind, I was just so nervous about seeing him again, and I think he knew that. he told me within the week but then mumbled something about "maybe this is why it didn't work before" or whatever. before this when we were kissing after spending the day together he told me he liked me, but when I asked him what he wanted he said he didn't know. before this, when I would ask him this about a year ago when we were first seeing each other he was pretty adamant about letting me know he did not want a relationship, so I somewhat took this response as a good sign, is that weird? he also wanted me to stay at his place until he got back later, but I wanted to go home. anyway, I called him later and apologized for giving him the 20 questions treatment, but told him I want to hang out I just feel weird about it, he told me to call him when I didn't feel weird about it. I really want to be with him, but I'm scared about his intentions and I know his past break up (it will be almost 2 years since it happened) was incredibly hard on him.
