• He stares into my eyes (sometimes 3-5 seconds)
• We hugged like 12 times
• Before we were friends and hated him, he kept on teasing
• We high five quite a lot of times
• He said "Don't be harsh" to his best friend because his best friend told me to shut up (and I didn't even say anything)
• He loved his birthday gifts I gave him and he kept on talking about it and and still has it in his house
• He randomly came to me and put his hands on my shoulders and looked into my eyes for 3-5 seconds
• Also one of his birthday gift was a hug from me. When we hugged, it was like 5-10 seconds and it was almost a proper long hug

So I've met a guy:

Every time he speaks to me he goes as red as what is humanly possible, and stutters a little sometimes. He always seems to be able to have a laugh with me whatever mood he's in. He's just transferred onto my department at work if if he needs help (someone spilled something or he doesn't know where something is etc) he comes to find me to get me to help him even though most of the time he has to walk past 4 or 5 other people before he finds me. Also he takes his breaks at the same time as i do.

I've also noticed (as have others) that he appears online on Facebook a lot more than what he normally does since we started talking on there as well.

The only issues are that I'm 16 months older than him, so when I turn 18 in December, he'll still be 16 until April when he turns 17.
People at work are always bringing us two up with one person even saying "i swear the way you two argue, it's like you're together"
Any idea on what's going on with him? Why'd he tell me to ask him to come if he was just going to make excuses to come? Does he like me?

Poll question: do you think he likes me?

So lately my crush has been talking to me a lot more during class, and cracking jokes. I told him I liked him last year but we just stayed friends. Now sometimes he'll take the long way to pass my desk, or when I'm handing him papers he'll touch/almost grab my hand. He also stares at me, like really deeply, until I get shy and turn away, and he teases me a lot, same as last year. But, outside of class it's like we hardly know each other. So am I reading too much into it?

How would you rate yourself? How does it compare with how everyone else rates you? Do you find yourself significantly more/less attractive than other people find you?
Personally, for the poll, I would pick slightly above average. Let me know if I'm completely deluded though.

Question title pretty much sums it up. You know that the person you are in love with does not, and probably will not ever feel the same.

Also note that this isn't the same as telling a friend or family member that you love them-intimate type love only.

Alex Hribal, the 16-year-old child in Pennsylvania who brought knives to school & stabbed over 20 people, has been found to be driven by schizophrenia. His motive was found to have been behind Ragnorok, the Norse legend of the apocalypse. In other words, he thought that God was telling him to begin the battle between good & evil, & he thought his peers (possibly or not possibly including his brother?) were the bad guys, in that sense.

He is as of now being charged as an adult. However, his lawyer is moving to have his case transferred to juvenile court. Coming down to it, he's really mentally ill & off his rocker, so due to that being outside his control, they're not supposed to put him in prison for life (although an insane asylum for life is the most equivalent alternative, but it's only slightly better than prison).

Many people with schizophrenia think that God tells them things directly in their head, in Alex's case, that the apocalypse was coming. So I suppose you could deduce that this was religious fanaticism or infatuation?

What's your take? Answer the poll. Furthermore, get back to me on food for thought such as:
-do you feel his parents should have been more attentive to his deteriorating mental state?
-his high school is known to have intense bullying issues. You think this had anything to do with feeding the notion that his peers were who God was telling him were "the bad guys?"
-how does this reflect on the teachers/counseling system of public schools these days, or mental health awareness in general?
-any other thoughts?
