ok so this might be long bare with me. this girl at my work we have liked each other a long time. like 7 years. she asked me out a few times and I was always afraid of dating somone I was working with. like she would say things to me like she can't stop thinking of me and she wants to be with me. I wouldn't commit to anything or go on a date. but we kept flirting and being into each other. it felt like we were like a work couple we both were into each other. like jim and pam on the office lol. she got a promotion as a nursing assistant and got moved to the corporate office at a different part of the building. so I gave her my number and she seemed happy. she got a cute smile and touched my arm. since then I have been studying to be a higher position and have been moved to a different location, but only 15 min away. so I do not see her at all anymore.
anyway it has been 4 months since I gave her my number and she has not called or texted. I know she prob isn't interested anymore right? but we are not that far removed from her telling me she can't stop thinking of me. and she was happy when I gave my number. you would think if she was into me enough to say those things then she would give it a try and text me. the reason we didn't date is because we work together and now we don't.
I feel like I should get over her but its hard because I feel like we could be good together and that there is still something there. also keep in mind there has been times I haven't seen her for 2 months and then when I do she acts sweet to me. so I suppose its still possible. I don't know should I hold out hope or move on.

So, to simplify for the sake of brevity, I became friends with her shortly after I moved three years ago, and about a year after that I developed a crush on her. I tried to flirt with her, we went on a couple of dates, and when I asked her to be my girlfriend she politely said no. It was obviously awkward for a bit after that, but we pulled through it. She is still one of my best friends, and normally I'd go to her with this question.
At this point, we are in our senior year of high school, and my parents are telling me that I should take her to prom as a friend. I don't think about her as more than a friend anymore, but I still feel uncomfortable with this for many reasons. First and foremost, I don't want to make things awkward between us again. She is my best friend and I really don't want to lose her. Second, I'm afraid that I might catch feelings for her again. I don't think that would happen, and I really hope it wouldn't be a problem, but I really don't want to risk that. The third and last major thing in my mind is that I honestly wouldn't want to go even if I had a girlfriend. I dislike a good chunk of my classmates, and am part if the group that wouldn't go if it was mandatory, so I wouldn't have many other friends there, anyways. Also, I don't want to be around that many teenagers where there will be, if past years are any indication, all kinds of drugs and booze affecting judgement.
So, with all of that, what is your opinion? Thank you in advance for any comments or responses.

It's seriously starting to get on my nerves. I'm the only one out of my group that is still a virgin, and it's not because I haven't had opportunities or chances, because I have had quiet a few in the past honestly. But I never went through with it, and ruined it.

It's just really unnerving thinking about potentially being locked down, and taken but at the back of my head it's telling me that I want that, but it scare's the shit out of me. I didn't even follow through with the chances I had of girls that literally only wanted sex, nothing more, and I still didn't do it even tho I found all of them pretty attractive. It's just something about relationships/sex that part of me want's to experience it more than anything, but then reality set's in and it make's me nervous even thinking about it.

I don't even know what to say to girl's on Tinder, I just usually end up getting matches and just never initiating anything. Which is the opposite of what I want to be, I love being spontaneous and in depth. But I just draw a blank and worry about screwing up, and end up screwing up. Even if the girl somehow stay's talking to me, I usually end up just dropping it before it get's anymore past that. If tired of doing this, and I don't know what I'm so afraid of. I love adrenaline rushes, yet this type of adrenaline make's me feel too nervous.

What can I do about it? Is the best option to just start talking to girl's on Tinder and Facebook and just see if anything happen's and just take it as far as it goes? Because that really make's me nervous for no reason, but I know I have to do something about it because I should have year's ago honestly. Does anyone have any tips on thing's to say, or thing's to do? I'm kind of behind most of my age group since I'm 20 and I still have this problem, but I need to do something. Any kind of help is appreciated lol
