Last year I bought my boss a gift voucher from a jewellery shop as a Christmas/ bday present but lost it on the way to her party. Mum recently found it in the car. I'm thinking of giving it to my boss as this year's present since I still need to get her something. Would that be rude? The voucher expires in about 6 months.

I have to make my mind up by Friday. That’s when the deal ends. I can go on a trip to Universal Orlando with my friend from Sunday Dec 10-Friday Dec 15th. That’s 4 full days at the parks. It’s about $800 per person. That includes flight, hotel, dining plan and transfers from airport to hotel. Hotel is cabana bay beach resort. I was going to pay my parents $500 and they can pay $300 but they said they would pay the entire $800 and I just need to bring my own spending money. They also said I have the option of getting an iPad Pro with VR glasses (virtual reality). (Cost around the same). I can’t get both. I currently have an iPad Air that isn’t holding charges long. I know that the iPad would last longer but I’ve never been to Orlando and neither has my friend. It would just be me and her. What should I do?

I do. It's really the only time I get presents from my family because my birthday is the day after. I don't usually get more than one thing then. I only got a proper birthday party last year because I turned 18. I also love the festiveness of the holidays. The snow, the trees, the sight of prettily wrapped presents, the music, and it's really the only time I get along with my family. There's something magical about the holidays.

My daughter is 19 and wants to go on a trip with her friend Ashlynn to Universal Orlando for her Christmas present. My daughter is currently not working but she’s taking two classes at community college. Her friend, Ashlynn, works 2 days a week at a retirement home for 6 hours. We live in Pittsburgh, PA. I already paid for a trip to Niagara Falls for her and her 3 friends in January. I paid for the hotel room for all of them and waterpark passes. I also had to give my daughter spending money on top f it. It was probably around $700 USD. This trip to Universal Orlando is too expensive for Ashlynn to pay upfront. Her parents also said they won’t help her pay since they have gifs to buy for other people. It is $687.45 per person for hotel and flight. For both of them that is $1,374.90. They want to go from December 14th-19th. I told Ashlynn she needs to bring her own spending money and I have to give my daughter spending money on top of that. The park tickets are around $200 each as well. I am willing to pay for the whole trip, that’s no problem. The problem is Ashlynn has been known to back out on trips. I can’t get my money back for this trip. Before I book it, I want to make sure she is 100% able to go. She said she would pay back if she doesn’t go, but I don’t believe that. I want her to sign a contract to give me $50 every month until it’s paid off. So she is locked into going. Do you think that’s too harsh? My daughter thinks it’s rude because I said I would pay for it all (which I will, I just don’t want Ashlynn to back out and not pay me the money back.) I also told my daughter if Ashlynn backs out, she is going to have no Christmas gifts because this is her gift.
