So I am friends with ths guy I met in College, its both our 1st year. I instantly liked him since we met in February , and we seemed to have hit it off really well.

We are in the same friends group, but I am the most out going of the bunch, many of them like to stay in or not really talk unless spoken to, including him.

We flirt everyday, I thought I was reading the signs right, since he only flirts with me, so when he walked me to my car a few nights ago I told him I liked him.

He looked at me, smiled and said "Really?". I laughed a bit and nodded back and I told him that I was happy he didn't laugh or walk away, he said "why would you think I would do that?" I didn't get to answer him because my dad pulled up, we said we would talk the next day, we hugged, and I left.

The next day though, we didn't talk much at all, I thought he was ignoring me, so I texted him, since we were with friends, "when did he want to talk", he looked at his phone and closed it, I watched the whole thing.
Later on that night we started talking like usual again, and the next day we were making jokes again.
What I don't understand is... we still flirt, he seems more show offy more now that I told him, We talk a lot, still are close friends, I play in his hair, he sleeps on my lap, these things still happen. So I thought he only wanted to stay friends, until I started talking to this guy he was tutoring, He got jealous, trying to find ways into the convo and his face showed it.

I know that I told him during the worst time possible, Finals week, and he is about to go back home during the summer for 3 months... could it be that he might like me and I just timed it wrong?

We have both never dated before and the only other girl I see him talk to a bit is a girl from his home town up north, known each other for about 2 years before me. Before he knew I liked him, he told me I would meet her and she is a friend, who he goes to for girl advice.
Was I rejected? Should I talk to him about this?
