Hey everyone, So i'm 25 same age as my bf, we've been together 6 months BUT known eachother for 10 years (went to school together) were dating a bit 5 years ago and then had a fling 2 years ago, have always been good friends and now we are in a really loving relationship so not as if we've just met.

He lives about 40 mins away (driving time in good traffic) first 2 months of our relationship I had a car but the effort to see eachother was always equal even though he would have to get the train (he never complained) but sometimes he can't stay over because he has work in the morning and always has to leave earlier than we would like for him to catch his train ( I couldnt drop him home as my kids in bed by that time) but my car got written off 4 months ago (my dad crashed it) so its been difficult seeing eachother with me having to spend less time with him having to catch my train to get to pick up my kids in time for when they finish school and having to get to work etc etc

I have savings for my children, they have everything they need for new school term, have birthday and Christmas sorted and a holiday booked so they are not missing out they always come first. I was saving for a car for myself but last week my ex (father of my children) bought a brand new car and has given me his old one for free as I need to get around with our children so the £1000 I saved for my car I can use to buy one for my bf. He has his test in 2 weeks and has a low income job, he has been paying for his lessons so couldnt save for one himself, he has a plan to save £100-150 a month for a Corsa but that can take him 10 months!!! My point is will it be weird if I surprise him with a Corsa after his test? (even if he fails I will still give it to him).

My ex broke up with me bc he felt like I desire too much attention! He felt like I changed! Maybe I did! I have had some life changes happen since we started to date! I have had my brother killed, my mother has taken ill, & my cousin taken his life! On top of that my car breaks down, I'm a mother of a teenager, n I manage restaurants. Besides the mother n job that comes with the territory! But when I needed him as far as just to talk I couldn't have him. Why? Because he was too busy tending to his sisters needs which they decided to move in with him. Now he's taking care of them & him. There are the oldest! Yes I complained & fussed but nothing changed cause he says those are his sisters! I told him that I was tired & I needed him too. His response was he don't know what to do! Days would go by & I didn't hear from him. And then he text to check on me! I mentioned to him again that I was becoming fed up! He stated that we both were going through & things happen doesn't mean he doesn't care any less about me! But I told him from time to time I need him! He broke up with me stating he needed to get his folks straight before he could be with me so he would rather break up handle his business & then come back! That hurt me cause I'm like why we can't be there for each other! He said cause I desire too much attention & that I expect him to drop everything he is doing just to be here with me! I told him well u dropping me to be there for them what's the difference! It ended just like that! Tonight I was stranded at work. I called him & he was willing to come take me home! I finally found a way so he wouldn't have to make that long drive! But of course he called & I told him I was headed home! He told me to call as soon as I got in! I did! He sounded concerned! He listened to me cry cause it's like everything is crashing around me. Then I told him goodnight! He said for me to call him tomorrow. Not sure if I should. Advice please!!!

So here's the dealio- I love to travel, in fact on a whim I took a job in Japan and I've been living here for the past 3 years. However, my contract is about up and I'm on my way back to the states to be a full time student, but I'm toying with the idea of traveling through Europe before getting settled back in the US. Here's the reasons why I'm unsure if it's a good idea:
1) It will be expensive. I won't have a paycheck when I initially get back to the states and I will have a lot of expensive upfront costs (apartment/security deposit, car, phone, internet, etc)
2) It will be very rushed. I will only be able to travel around for MAYBE 3 weeks tops. I want to visit 4-5 countries which is a lot of traveling in a short amount of time
3) I only have about a month to plan, book, and pay for all of this. I have some money saved up, and a few more paychecks on the way but it's a lot of last minute coordination
4) unexpected costs. I planed a trip to NZ and Australia last November and even though I thought I had everything figured out, I spent a lot more that I originally thought I would--however knowing where these money pitfalls I do think I can avoid some of them better this time

Here's my pros for wanting this:
1) I've always wanted to go to Europe and this is one of the most convenient opportunities that I will have since I'm already traveling back from overseas
2) I have friends currently living in 2 of the countries I want to go to-possibly free couch to crash on
3) I am confident in traveling alone/have already done so

mostly this comes down to money. Part of me says, "fuck it lets just have this awesome experience and suffer the consequences later," but I also know how much it sucks to pay off credit cards... even with a steady income (which I won't have initially). Help me guys!
