Alright, so, I've been working on a long-term fantasy universe to draw on for short stories, longer stories (chronicles, so to speak), tabletop RPG campaigns with friends, and most things in between.
I've come up with a passable amount of content, particularly concerning races—such as the cultures, histories, and languages thereof.
The languages I am working on so far are:

1. Tamakata: Yaskata (Yasabito—Vampires—dialect) and Namkata (Namumon—Dwarflike Humans—dialect).
2. Krunyani (spoken by Krun: Orclike Humans)
3. Tyvi/Tyven (spoken by Tyvr: Debauched Elves)
4. Kemolugra (spoken by Kemonen: Beastmen)
5. Shaxad (spoken by Ashax: Ghouls)
6. Gemensprech (spoken by Mannla: Humans), and Altsprech (spoken by Mannla old farts)

Now, Gemensprech, modeled after High German, is the inevitable "Common Tongue" in this universe, but I have run into a bit of a dilemma:
Because Gemensprech is the most "human" language out of its peers, it is designed to be reasonably familiar to speakers of most Germanic languages. However, I'm a bit stuck on the written language: Should it be some completely new, designed from scrap alphabet, or should I model it after Germanic Runes and Proto-Latin?

So, the end of my college career is fast approaching, and quite honestly, I enjoyed it. But there's one thing I never did that I regret: go on a date.

A shy little boy at heart, I've had plenty of crushes, many of which were nice girls that I was friendly with, but I never got the courage to ask any of them out (that or they had boyfriends already), and as such, much of college hath been a lonely road. But that's okay: education came first.

But now that it's almost over and I'm cruising towards graduation, I'd like to ask at least one girl out. Like a last challenge to myself before I graduate. I know, it's silly, but bear with me.

I have a girl in mind. She's cute, she's single, she's interesting; we're friendly, but we don't really know anything about each other minus small details that may have come up in conversation. I'd like to ask her out, but like a turtle without a shell I'm unsure how to approach the dilemma I've suddenly been thrust into; do I get to know her better first, or do I ask her out and use the date as a way to get to know her?

It's likely nothing will come of said date, but that's besides the point; the date itself is the goal. So any advice will be stored in my memory banks for recollection and appropriate thanks and/or fuck yous later. Cheers regardless, fellow gaggers!
