So basically been dating a guy from another country for a few months. We both have said our connection is rare and we like each other so much. He told me he has to go back to the UK because his dads sick and he probably won’t be coming back because he’ll need to mourn. I totally understand. He said that he thinks it’s best we cut contact now even though he doesn’t know exactly when he’s leaving just because he knows his feelings will keep growing and things will get harder.

Since we said goodbye he’s still messaged each day and he kissed me the other day. He also said he will end up turning cold to protect himself which yesterday I felt. I got so upset and left. Hours later I sent a message saying I hope he’s ok too but I think it’s best we take time a part if that’s how things are. It was quite a long message. I ended up sending another one after that because silence sends my mind into over drive and he hasn’t replied which is out of character
He always double messages if I don’t reply. Now I feel crazy and want to apologise

Would sending one message apologising be too much? I just want one reply so I can give us both space to move on. I know it was only one night of a bit crazy but I don’t want to make things worse and for him to change his view on me
