Some people like to say that things happen for a reason - is this true, or do people only say it to cheer themselves up when bad things happen? The guy or girl you thought you were meant to be with changes their mind - it's just so you can meet your soul mate next month, you don't get that job even though you really needed it - but you get the next one instead and make loads of money. Truth or rubbish? Does anyone have any stories?

A soul mate connection will be almost instant. It may feel as if you have known each other your whole lives. Conversations will flow things will seem very natural between you. You will have similar life paths with your cosmic soul mate and they will most likely come into your life unexpectedly. You may notice that the two of you have a very strong psychic connection. You will most likely share some sort of 11:11 connection either in your birthday, day you met, or other significant numerical situations. When you speak to or are around your soul mate you may feel a sense of completion and oneness with this person. You may even experience a sudden calm or stillness with in, this is you soul mate realigning and healing your past emotional and mental scars.

Given the choice, would you rather be able to have sex with anyone of your choice for as long as you live or find your legitimate soul mate? Someone who you care about more than yourself, you're deeply sexually and emotionally attracted, they're your best friend, etc... and it also lasts for life. Which one would you pick?

I've been single for 3 years now, and I'm ready to jump back into the dating scene. The only problem is that I'm pretty shy, so it's hard for me to actually meet guys on campus.

I've been tossing around the idea of making a dating profile through OkCupid (if there are better sites then please let me know). I kind of feel like resorting to online dating is almost like admitting defeat, or admitting I'm desperate. I'm not looking for a soul mate right now. I'm just interested in meeting some cool people that I hopefully hit it off with.

So, what do you think? Should I be embarrassed for wanting to make a profile? Is it a bad idea?

Do you all truly believe everything happens for a reason? You meet people, and experience things in every stage of your life to put you in the place or position to meet the person you are supposed to be with. Not saying that anything in the past wasn't real, but was more a step toward your destiny, and KNOWING with every fiber of your being that regardless of how much you may have loved someone or experienced someone previously or currently that another person standing in front of you IS the person you are supposed to be with.
