My father want to see my boyfriend tomorrow night because he want to talk with him about the baby and i don't know what to do. I'm really really nervous and sick of thinking about tomorrow and what would happen. My boyfriend told me that we should be %100 responsible for what happened and he want me to keep the baby. I'm so scared of giving birth because I'm just 15 years old and my father hates me now and don't want to talk with me again.

I've had this discussion with females inside and outside of my family, especially with mothers. There is an overwhelming sense of pride in their ability to give birth. That's all fine, and a mother SHOULD be proud of carrying out a successful child birth.

My problem stems from the notion that THIS is a bullet point in their usefulness versus a man's usefulness as humans. "Sure, you guys have invented stuff and been at the forefront of every major advancement in human history, but WE have vagina's."

That is more or less the general consensus argument females throw at me.

But there is already a problem with that argument. It's the fact that women are technically capable of 'inventing things' and what-not, and do so periodically. They are capable of going to the moon and all of that jazz. So how is it that 'giving birth' is the most significant response I get from girls? Who's telling them to settle for THAT as the reason they are useful? My personal thought is that they settle for it because it is in actuality the easiest thing to claim.

"Hey, you might can use your brain to do all of these amazing things, but guess what I can do? Yep, I can do exactly what nature intended for me to do... With your help, of course."

That sounds incredibly stupid, doesn't it? Well, that's exactly what I hear in my head every time a girl tells me, "Well if it wasn't for us, you wouldn't exist."

What makes it so frustrating is that conception alone isn't even possible without the aid of a male, but that is what they claim THEY can do by themselves. In that respect, having a period is more of a feat than giving birth in regards to their usefulness VS a mans, simply because there is no male involvement in the menstrual process.

But I digress,

My question is simply whether or not I should accept that logic. Is childbirth a voluntary contribution to the same same degree as doing something that isn't just a natural occurrence in nature?
