There is one girl I really like. She's an actress at a local theatre in my city. I know her for almost 2 years, because she is kind of famous here. One day few months ago we've met accidentally on the streets and while walking past me she stared the whole time at me. So I thought she is interested in me and started visiting her plays occasionally and every time she has seen me in the audience while being on the stage, she has given me an eye contact. There was even one time when she stared at me so intensively the whole play that I felt uncomfortable and moved away my eyes from her (she had a secondary role so she had a chance to look at the audience). So after one of her plays I told to myself I should talk to her. I waited outside the theatre and when I saw her I presented myself and told her that I liked the play a lot and that she is a very talented actress, she was very pleased and then I thanked her for the great evening. After some time I watched her in another play in which she participates and after it I texted her on facebook (she accepted my friend request) and congratulated her for the great performance. And told her that I will definitely visit her next play. She answered me that she is very happy to hear that. But I didn't want to text her frequently and get to know her by messaging, so few days ago I decided to go on her new play and wait for her outside again. And when she showed up I approached her, she smiled and we started talking about the theatre and other stuff while we were walking (we were in the same direction). Then after chatting a bit I asked her a bit directly if she wants to go out for a cup of coffee some day, when she is free. And she told me maybe she could, but after the holidays and told me to text her on facebook. When we were about to split up I asked her for her number, but she refused to give it, because she didn't want to make me feel uncomfortable if she can't answer my calls. What do you think I should do now?

I'm mostly after what girls think of this, but feel free to comment too guys, no need to segregate :P

For instance,
Suppose you and a guy hit it off really well in person, to the point that you're happy to let him know about your plans for the future, your personal thoughts on dating and marriage etc.
In an instance like this, would you place more emphasis on what happens when you see the other person (catching up, hanging out, going to parties etc.) or the conversations you have via text.

Reason:
This girl and I have really excellent chemistry and have been good friends for about 4 years. I've always sort of gotten the vibe she likes me and I like her a lot. Neither of us has ever specifically said something about it to the other though. When we hang out, we get on really well. She smiles and laughs a lot, makes eye contact and is engaged in the conversations we have. Just recently we were talking and she started asking me about my future plans and, when I returned the question to her after answering, she told me about her goals and future plans and that she doesn't want to get married for approx. 4 years.

First off, what type of guy friend would you tell stuff like this too?

Secondly, when we hang out (even at parties), we mostly talk to each other and get on really well. However, she's terrible at returning my text messages. When she does, however, it is often with a thought-out, lengthy reply. But it can take her days sometimes, if she even replies at all. She is also a VERY busy person. A few others I've talked to have said she isn't the best at texting and they have similar experiences with her.

So my second question: is it likely that she simply places more emphasis on face-to-face communication than she does messaging and I am simply overthinking things? Or is it a sign that she just isn't that into me?
