Does it really make such a huge difference to guys if a girl is wearing rings on her ring fingers? (NOT engagement or wedding rings, of course...) I read somewhere that girls are expected to keep their hands bare unless they're married or engaged because it discourages guys from approaching them. Is this true?

So this guy who's been seeing me, really laying it on thick with the compliments and following me around everywhere like a puppy dog, suddenly wrote the following to me yesterday when I asked him when we could meet up to work on our project.

I asked him if we could meet during the week, and he says he's busy during the week, but would like to work on it over the weekend, when we were supposed to meet up anyway (since he asked me out for Saturday evening):

He says he can't on Friday because he has a date... "Saturday works; Sunday I am busy...Have another date on that day too. But shhhh, don't tell the ladies, each of them thinks they are the only one, HA HA HA."

I'm really disappointed, as this guy comes off as a so-called nice guy, and I write back that I'm surprised he's a player.

He says, "I am not a "player." I am single so that means I am not tied down. I don't have a girlfriend, so I don't feel bad about dating multiple women at a time. Why should I feel bad?"

Of course, I didn't say he should feel bad, but he's a little bone-headed for presenting the information to me this way. I don't tell him this, I just mention that it's none of my business and let the topic go.

He isn't ready to let the topic go, however. "Hey, it is not lying. Did they ask me specifically if they were the only ones? No. I didn't lie, I just didn't volunteer information ;) Believe me, they are probably dating other men too. My motto is: unless there is a ring on your finger, you owe nobody nothing ;)"

Really? I mean... really?
