I've been told several times if you stop showing effort, and persuing someone. Eventually they will wonder where that went and reach back out.
Like after arguing with my ex a few years ago during a break up, my friends told me not to give her any attention and affection and it will let her decide. A few months later she returned to make up with me.
I was dating a girl for a while who wants more time to get over her ex, and again I'm being told that if I let things be she will make her way back to me because I'm not doing what I used to.
Same thing with a girl who I really like, and has a crush on me, but is having constant issues with breaking up and getting back with her boyfriend. If I stop showing I like her, the next time they break up, she will come to me.
Is this true?
Those are just the things I'm going through.

This really nice girl started working with me in November, and we worked together a lot. I'm 22, and she was a few weeks away from being 18. She expressed she didn't go out much or even dated at all because she's wanting to focus on school. She's been doing college classes after her high school.
I was promoted the next month to a different role and I see her from time to time. She will always come to say hi and have a conversation with me. She always seems happy to see me and she will tell me how she's doing.
Is she showing interest?

I was hanging out with my girlfriend watching netflix on the couch and my sister barged in trying to talk to her about how she went to a gay pride event and there where some “CUTE GUYS” she was really trying to send the message that the guys where cute... it seemed as if she had some sort of hidden agenda by doing that.

Then regardless of my girlfriend showing little to no interest in what she was talking about she proceeded to show pictures and videos of the guys. Just for some perspective my sister is 29 soon and my girlfriend is 20.

Yes I know the guys where gay guys. But just the idea that it was as if she wanted to make her agree with her. And she even said that straight guys are ugly compared to gay guys... it’s like wtf. If she had a boyfriend and he was over and I showed was trying to show him some “HOT LESBIANS” she would be upset too.
