My guy friend of 3 years has always been super attentive to me, sweet, devoted like a puppy. He is always as close to me as he can get and touches my upper arm, shoulders, lower back, lets his hand rest too long on mine if he hands me st, holds eye contact forever, has played with my hair, notices EVERY little thing about my appearance, has fed me off his spoon after he'd used it, presses his arms/thighs into mine when we sit side by side and he's said he loves me, just not romantically. We tease each other a LOT and he calls me "girl"/"woman" and pretends like he's mad. He wanted to buy me a gift for "putting up with" him. He told me recently that I've been his other fave person (besides gf) for two yrs. he's been with her 18 mos.

We've both been taken the whole time we've been friends but we have become emotionally intimate and it feels like more than just friends. We messaged and texted ALL summer and talked about everything under the sun, deep stuff, silly jokes, how he's bored with his gf and wants to be free this year to "kindle new flames". My guy crush and I have recently gotten more sexual in what we message about. He always brings it up and I just go along as far as he wants... I thought. I don't think he's jk. He shows every single sign of being into me we've already said we love each other to some extent.
He keeps telling me he's an open book and I can know anything if I ask the right questions. What does that mean? is he trying to get me to ask him out or to take things to the next level? Emotionally, I feel like we're already a couple, just not physically.
