There's this friend with benefits who claims she has no feelings for me. She claims she has no feelings for me beyond anything sexual, but at times I think she gets jealous.

One time us and two couples were out for dinner and the waitress thought we were a couple. After she found out we weren't, the waitress started flirting with me. Outside I asked everyone if they thought she was flirting and they were all like yeah go back and get her number. She completely avoided talking about it and walked to the side of all of us.

Also, she was telling me about how I could have gotten (missed my chance because I'm oblivious) with her hot best friend a few years back and how she's having marriage problems. I jokingly said, let me know if they break up, I'd wanna date her. Then she said, I don't even wanna think about you two being together.

So she claims she doesn't want me romantically, but when other girls show interest in me or when I talk about other girls she appears to get jealous.

Is she even jealous? Is she hiding something?

This mainly applies to girls who work in bars or restaurants (like Hooter's and Tilted Kilt) where it is understood that guys may be likely to flirt with you, try to get your number, try to go on a date with you, etc.

So, right now, as a waitress, guys probably flirt with you a lot while you are at work. Maybe it gets on your nerves--maybe not. So, how would you feel if suddenly, all the male patrons at your place of employment just stopped flirting with you? No more pick up lines; no more trying to score a date with you on the spot; no more trying to get your number--all of it just stops cold turkey. It appears as if all the local men had a big town hall meeting and voted to stop flirting with all waitresses in all bars and restaurants in the local community.

When answering the poll or leaving comments, assume the following: 1) no guy has flirted with you or any other waitress at your place of employment; 2) the flirting has all been stopped for about a month--long enough to make it seem like the trend has stopped permanently; 3) the guys still tip you the same way they always have; and 4) you see and know for a fact that a lot of the guys have wives or girlfriends.
