I auditioned for American Idol on Tuesday in Annapolis. Not many people made it but I got a golden ticket and they want me to go to the callback in New Orleans on Thursday, Sept 14th. Not sure if it's a good idea because of Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Katia in the gulf. Katia isn't doing much right now but it could strengthen. We have to respond by Saturday if we will be attending the callback. Also if we go to the callback it doesn't guarantee that we will get on the show. It's just auditioning again in front of a different set of producers.

My friend and I are debating if we should have our parents fly us out to Pittsburgh or if we should take a train. The cost of last minute flights are around $300-500 per person round trip. The cost of round trip train ticket is near $700 per person and it's Amtrak. We live in Memphis, TN. There is an American idol audition on Sunday. We've known about this for 3 months. My parents don't want to go. My friends parents don't wanna go either. I am 15 and my friend is 16. The train leaves tomorrow night and gets into Pittsburgh on Sunday early in the AM and departs at night after the audition and gets in Tuesday. We would take a late flight out Saturday night and around like 8 or 9pm. The flight would get in early Sunday morning and would leave Sunday night to return home sometime Monday. We would take an Uber from the airport to the audition place and back and vice versa the train station or we would take public transportation. We really wanna do this but both of our parents dont really wanna to send us out there but mine are considering it.

My friend asked me back in May if I wanted to audition for American Idol in September. I said yes. We hung out here and there and practiced singing (sing different songs and not really commit to anything). My friend, however for the past week has gotten on my nerves. We have been hanging out every single day at my house. I still haven't committed to a song and she yells at me saying "you've had 3 months to pick a song and I've told you this and now the audition is 3 weeks away and you still have no song and keep switching" and "how the hell do you think you can prepare a song in 3 weeks, you shouldn't have waited this long". I have been trying to find songs but my voice doesn't seem to go with anything and I told her this and she told me "your not gonna perfect the song the first time you sing it, it's called practice, which is what we are supposed to be doing every time I come over here but you keep going from song to song and bitching about how you can't sing it". And she tells me I'm really irritating her. I keep saying mhm, yeah, and okay to everything she says when she's yells at me and she's like "that's all you can say is mhm, how about you actually do something about it instead of going mhm or okay". I wanted to go to her house today and she's like we can't practice singing here and you know this (her parents WILL and Have yelled at us). So I told her to ride her bike to my house and she's like "what for so you can not choose a song and so we can argue, I don't think so". Why is she being so mean? It really hurts my feeling? I wanna audition and my dad is gonna take us but I don't want her to keep screaming at me. She has 3 songs already and I have none. We are both 16 by the way

Okay. I'm 18 and I've never worked. I got shitty grades in high school because I didn't really care about it. I am not going to college this fall because I don't know what I want to do and don't feel like having my parents waste money on college (it's very expensive). I plan on getting a job. My mom has been up my ass about getting a job since the end of July. I applied to 4 places (Target, local grocery store, spirit Halloween and petsmart). Petsmart wants people with job expierence. The bitch from spirit Halloween never called me back, the lady from target never emailed me back to set up an interview and I never returned the calls from the local grocery store (I didn't know it was their number, I had to google it) and they sent an email saying that the position was no longer being offered to me. My mom is pissed that I never answered the phone for the grocery store. (I hate talking on the phone). I want easy jobs. I don't want to work anywhere fast paced. I am pretty lazy and don't do anything around the house because I don't really want too or if I do it, I do it halfassed. My mom yells at me all the time for it. My mom says I have until August 30th to be hired somewhere and start working or she's kicking me out. She says it's plenty of time, I would've had a whole month. She works and is going back to school this fall to be an RN. She's like there's no reason in the world why I can't have a job and why she should be expected to pay for everything and go to school. She says she doesn't even care if I work part time, I just need to have a job. I have an audition for American idol on September 3rd and my friends parents are driving us down there. I feel like I need the entire month to practice and I don't have time to look for a job and I can look for one if I don't get on Idol. My mom won't allow that to happen. She says I can't just rely on getting on Idol and that solving everything. I need a job before then.

My friend auditioned for American Idol back in June with their online auditions. A casting producer emailed her asking if she would like front of the line passes for her audition city. She is auditioning in person later this month. She knows she can't sing and she sounds really bad and she still auditioned anyways. She accepted the offer and American Idol producers also called her phone and left a voicemail asking about front of the line audition passes. The email came from americanidol. com so it's legit and they say not to screenshot and post the email on social media or she will be automatically disqualified. Why would she want to embarrass herself like that just to get on tv? She's not gonna get a good reputation and she won't get anywhere. American idols twitter and musically also liked her audition video. Apparently these passes are hard to get. I sound better than she does and auditioned but heard nothing back. I don't understand

So the guy I was seeing for 9 months broke up with me 2 days ago to my shock because I thought we were on the same page. It was an amicable break up although obviously I felt more for him than he did for me but we both really want to be friends again after things have healed.

Anyway, I now have this huge urge to message him to wish him good luck for an audition I know he has coming up tomorrow but I can't decide if this is a good idea. I fully respect and accept his decision to end our relationship and will not be begging for answers or trying to get him to take me back it would purely be to wish him luck (and because I miss talking to him and want to check he's ok).

Is it a good idea or not?
