I met her 6 months ago. I was at a bar, depressed out of my mind. I had reached the lowest point in my life and was planning on committing suicide on that very night. That is, until she sat on the stool beside me and just randomly started talking to me. We got along really great, we chatted for 2 hours and she asked for my number. We began dating and have been together ever since. I completely lost my intentions of ending my life. All I could think about was her and how great it felt to talk to her and be with her.

I was thinking about telling my girlfriend but I don't want her to freak out and think I'm mentally unstable or something. Should I tell her?

My ex broke up with sometime at mid October because she got crush on another guy at her graduate University which she started at the beginning of October. She has been casually seeing this guy until mid-December from when they started officially dating. Well they didn’t see each other during the Christmas holidays but after they returned from the break they have been together since.

Timeline of my relationship with her:
We met 2010 September

Started dating 2011 February

First Break up 2011 September

Got back together 2011 January

Broke up 2014 January because I pissed her off when I got a bit unstable with other issues.

2014 February – Got back together after I sorted everything and took her on an epic Valentine's date.

August 2014 – She said she was going a bit off me because of what happened in January (we had a bit of long distance since July 1st); I saw her at the end of the month and somewhat rekindled everything.)

September 2014 – She returned to the same city I am in. We then decide to move cities and start her graduate school.

October 2014 (week1) – She moves to the new city.

October 2014 (week 2) – She tells me she has a crush on someone else.

October 2014 (week 3) – She breaks up with me

November 2014 (week 1) – I move to the new city to start my new job. (Moved a month later than her because I had to tie up loose ends where I was).

November 2014 (week 2) – Visits her uninvited…things don’t go so well.

November 2014 (week 4) – Bumps into her and the guy she has a crush on. Things don’t go so well. I hung out with her a bit the next day after begging to…it was okish, she was unpleased about it. I start No Contact immediately after.

December 2014 (week 3) - Breaks No contact after approximately 18 days. She hooks up with her crush. Christmas holidays starts 2 days later so they went on 2 dates before the break. They kept in touch throughout the holidays.

Throughout my life there have been numerous occasions where I'd hear about some suicide, whether on the News, from someone I know in my town, or on the internet. And I've noticed a rather disturbing trend. First of all, most suicides I've known of were due to either loneliness, relationship issues, or a breakup. The only two exceptions I've seen are someone killing themselves after committing murder, and someone killing themselves because they had a stroke and could not stand life anymore. But anyway, onto the main topic of this question..

Whenever a girl killed herself, everyone felt sorry for her, and was quick to blame her boyfriend, father, or some other man for her death. One teenage girl in a town not far away from here set herself on fire because a boy broke up with her, and basically everyone had a big pity party for her, while talking about how horrible her boyfriend is.

However, when the genders swap roles, and a man kills himself because of a woman, he is vilified, and portrayed as some kind of psychopath. Why? To make the woman feel better? No one ever questions exactly how much bullshit these women gave these men to make them kill themselves. My friend's ex-girlfriend got with another guy after she left him, and after a few weeks that guy blew his brains out. I know from experience she was a physically abusive and mentally unstable person. Yet I'm sure anyone who heard about that incident would have assured her it wasn't her fault.

Anyway, I am sick of this mentality that women are always the victims, and men are always the oppressors. Even when a woman drives a man past the brink of sanity, and he shoots or hangs himself, she's still the victim somehow. I've seen so many women abuse kids and grown men in my life. I've seen men be abusive to kids and women too, of course, but the difference is those men were ostracized by society, and/or punished. Women on the other hand seem to be getting a free pass to abuse people. And it needs to stop.
