100 gallons of water is nothing, the production of a pound of beef takes almost 2000 gallons. If you're really worried about the water waste, you should stop eating meat to begin with.
@D4nielv saving starts with the smaller things. Production of cotton is also a total waste of water and so is the production of cars and basically everything you consume. On the other hand, humans could not care less about the rate they destroy the planet anyway.
Buying beans instead of meat in a grocery store is a smaller thing, not sure how you're connecting that to completely crippling yourself by avoiding most clothing and all cars.
@D4nielv It is perfectly possible to live without car and have just a minimum of clothes rather than a closet full of designer clothes costing $1000 a piece and made by Bangladeshi children paid 70 cents a day...
Sue: Why start with something small? Save a lot of water right now, and stop eating beef. It would also save a lot of carbon and methane from going into the atmosphere.
