I'm from Canada but I lived very briefly in the US. There are plenty of differences but I'll highlight a few. Canada tends to care more about the well-being of its population as a whole whereas in the US it is every man for himself. We have social services such as universal healthcare and university here is much more affordable. There is also less of a gun culture here. Sure people who like to hunt own guns but no one else really does especially in the cities. We don't think guns are necessary to protect us from becoming victims of crime and our cities are quite safe. We tend to be more liberal here when it comes to politics. Some parts of the country are conservative but not as conservative as some American politicians are. There are also subtle differences in language. We pronounce certain words differently from you guys or we use different words to describe the same thing (ex. a beanie for us is a toque). Also like in the US some of us have a strong accent while others don't. It really depends on where you're from. We use British spelling (neighbour vs. neighbor). We also work with the metric system except when we talk about our height and weight. In that case we use the imperial system. Also this is kind of a small but unusual difference. We can buy milk in bags here whereas you can't get that in the States. We have candy bars that you guys don't have and vice versa. Smarties for us are a chocolate similar to M and Ms whereas what you guys call Smarties we call Rockets.

https://youtu.be/F-glHAzXi_MThis sums up our stereotypes here in Canada, and how we are a bit different. In a funny twist. @WhiteSteve this ones for you!!
And your blood is part maple syrup
That's right, that's why we are so sweet 😝
Fuckin' A right, bud!Oh, you wacky, wacky Canadians...😜
Fuckin' rights, bud! This is perfect! New MHO!
We're politer, more tolerant, less religious, more easy going.I've had this confirmed to me by American co-workers.
also confirmed by me :)
Canadians are more relaxing and have a peacefull life.. americans have a busy life compared to the Canadians and you can find much more violence in the us..
Our cultures are fairly close. To make a wild generalization, I'd say Canada hangs on to more European things than Americans.
Canadians seem more funny, talkative and positive to me so far
Well for one Canada has no people in it and still manages to fit snooty French in there.
Not true at all. I'm from Canada and we have a population of 30 million and only one part of the country really speaks French.
I think you just proved my point.
Also French isn't a snooty language if you knew it. Multilingualism is an asset.
Who said anything about the language... ? Please stop while you're ahead. I rescind and take it all back. Canada is a wonderful landmass filled with whatever.
Americans= Proud to be AmericanCanadians= Proud to not be American
Americans - they like everything big and eat big tooCanadians - posh and loud
