I'm not, but I know some. They live ok i guess, well not ok, but they manage to get by, they work for shitty money but somehow don't starve. Sometimes their houses are cold and they wear thick clothes and jumpers to bed. They get treated badly by a lot of people, especially their bosses. Really, sometimes I look at them and wonder how they do it, then I remember the stories of why they left their countries in the first place and I see this is kinda like paradise compared to that. Only thing is, they see everyone else living normally and keeping warm and know it's a shit life, but still they feel grateful they aren't in their old life.
That's sad. I do admire them. Most of them are wonderful people.
Yea and I am usually in awe of their work ethic. Undocumented people can and do work HARD. It's crazy. They will work like 3 jobs a day 5 days a week and then another job or two on the weekends, just going home to sleep for a few hours then back out to work. Nothing else. I would die if I tried that. I can barely do 5 days with one job lol.
Yeah I understand. It's sad how there are people that talk bad about them.
It's just fear. People always fear what they don't know, and how many people actually KNOW undocumented people.. Not just some guy they know of down the street... hardly anybody who isn't in the same situation. People are scared of Mexicans, blacks, Muslims, Sikhs and more... It's partly because the media loves a good scare mongering story.
True and do you think most people actually know of someone that is undocumented?
Actually I think lots of people do, but don't know they do. Just because so many work in mainstream places under different names. Others who speak less English can never get those opportunities though, and usually work a million jobs where they hardly even talk to other people apart from basic things.
