  • Well I am not a fan of Guadio but Venezuela under Maduro is worse than majority of the countries on earth, in terms of finance, economy and welfare.

People eat cats and dogs because they cannot find anything to eat and loot markets. Minimum wage is equivalent to 3 dollars.

I don't think they could resist If US was to release a military intervention.
However US has its own problems inside as well, and they are still not done with the Middle East and Afghanistan.

And I don't think US military intervening could bring peace to Venezuela. Just look at Iraq or Afghanistan.

So I would say that is is vague.
    Heaven knows.

    • Peace there is impossible to achieve due to propaganda and people ready to die to show it to the infidels

    • @Tilin29 that and the borders on the Middle East were made very arbitrarely, just like in Africa. They did not follow cultural, religious or linguistic lines, hence why the constant conflict. Imagine some colonial power conquered Europe and when they left, they created a mish-mash of countries. Imagine a country that spands from the North of Italy up to the South of Germany, East of France and West of Hungary - that's already half a dozen different cultures, languages and a few different sects of Christianity in there. Well, that is the case with most post-colonial divisions of Africa and the ME.

The same, as I understand, is not true with South America. Venezuela could, in theory, be stabilized far easier than Iraq or Afghanistan.

  • they won't because there's trump running.
if it was hillary, all the trigger happy democrats would have been at war with Russia by now.

On the side, is it just me that sees Venezuela's situation as created by interest groups that isolated the country economically just so it's population starves until the breaking point, so they revolt out of desperation against the president that did not want to give the oil away?

It's funny how the "urgency" for democracy is created in these countries that don't want to obey.

  • Why would we? Dumb people voted in socialism and now they suffer the consequences like so many other countries before them. They need to fix their own problems. I do not want our soldier to die for weak people.

  • I hope not, but would not be surprised if the Pentagon did.

This is Venezuela's problem, so it should be solved internally, bu the Venezuelan citizenry themselves, with no outside interference.

But they own the largest oil reserves in the world.
    www.eia.gov/.../analysis.php?iso=VEN
So, Washington, Moscow, Beijing, Ankara, etc… are all sure to be fighting over the reserve's access literally or figuratively, in the public or behind closed doors, blatantly or subtly.

  • Does Venezuela have a lot of oil? Muricans always have this underlying reason to invade, they don't really care about political problems of a certain country

  • The United States of America has no desire to invade Venezuela; we could spend all that money on securing our country, feeding starving families, and rebuilding dilapidated infrastructure.

    0|0
    0|0
    • The *people* of the US don't want to invade, and would rather spend that money in the ways you say

But what we want doesn't matter.

What matters is what the international banksters want.

And Venezuela has a lot of oil.

    • You are aware that the United States of America now exports more oil than it imports right?

Venezuela is a problem that those citizens need to solve and America needs to fix our own.

If you have read any of the recent climate change papers you’d not support oil and go to capacitors/solar, hydroelectric, wind w/ capacitors, nuclear (if we can dispose of the waste).

    • We've exported more oil than we imported for years. And in a year or two, that will change. And then it will change back again a few years later. It fluctuates.

It doesn't matter to the banksters whether we export oil. What matters is the amount of currency they can stuff in their pockets. If invading Venezuela will make the stock they own in various companies go up, then an invasion will happen.

And the regular people of all involved countries will suffer.

It wouldn't matter what papers I'd read, about any subject. I'd have to care, and I simply don't. Is oil killing the planet? Don't know, don't care. Not my problem. By the time it becomes a serious issue, I'll be safely dead and gone.

  • None. Economically, they have very little we want. We're too busy getting flooded with scare tactics from the media about the Arab world and China.

    • Au contraire, comrade. This may come as a surprise to you (as it was to me, too), but Venezuela actually has the largest oil reserves in the world.

Washington woulnd't give that much of a δαmn if their massive reserves were broccoli, right?

    • True.

I hope we're right and Venezuela isn't invaded. The world is already in such a big mess, another military-conflict, the inevitable war-crimes, and mass-chaos is not something else we need.

    • The way of the West now is to broker back door economic deals to either create/outsource jobs and sell certain demographics down the river. Subversion politics. The days of WW2, Vietnam... take over by a storm of force... in the West, those days are over. Lesson learned from Vietnam.

  • Well they're idiots, watch their military training video made to scare "us troops"
Lool... they're fiting their guns with no magazines... probably because they ain't got ammo

    • @Waffles731 Africa is not the issue, USA plunders rich countries with oil reserves, and even if you combine UK and France, they had less military interventions than USA, considering that your country exists less than four centuries.
