Do you think Michael Jackson DID IT?

HBO will release the documentary "Leaving Neverland" where people claims they've been sexually abused by Michael Jackson when they were children. Some of them hasn't spoken a lot to the media about it before after his death. It's discussed if they're lying to gain fame and wealth or if they're really telling the truth. #Neverland #LeavingNeverland #MichaelJackson

My Opinion:
Some may say I'm a bit biased since I likes Michael Jackson's music, but anyway - here's my opinion: I don't believe Michael Jackson is guilty and won't believe it until it's proven. The court declared him innocent and there aren't any evidence him doing it.

Some people seems to confuse sexually abuse and childish behavior not matching our society's norms on how adults are supposed to behave. It's known Jackson had a stressful childhood with a lot of work and difficulty with people around him, so he may have missed getting a properly childhood and therefor he behaves like a child sometimes in his adult life. It's not uncommon for abused children to behave that way and I've witnessed it myself (met people behaving that way + knowing their backstory). Most likely Jackson saw the other children as "friends" and he sometimes saw himself as a child too; one of them. It's not uncommon among children to share bedroom in a sleepover, sitting close together, teasing each others etc. Children have a playful nature, but it looks weird when an adult do it. Jackson may not realize what he did was weird because he was "one of the kids" in his mind.

PS! I've not watched the documentary yet. It hasn't been released in my country.

  • No, I do not believe any of those allegations. I’m not even a fan of his. But this whole conspiracy around him is very interesting. I did my own little research... the kids that made their claims later confessed to it all being a bunch of lies because their parents set them up to do it for money. Not only that, there are kids who’ve spent time in the whole wonderland place that will defend MJ till this day, free of charge. In my opinion, higher ups wanted MJ to fail because he owned like half of Sony and he wasn’t stopping 👀 the dude had so many leeches and jealous snakes around him. I am not surprised at all that the media just wants to continue to hurt his legacy even AFTER his death. Tragic 😬 the documentary is slandering garbage, not even well put together. I haven’t listened to one song by the dude in YEARS and yet it makes me a little mad. Like it’s so sad that humans are capable of such despicable things. From my understanding the guy definitely had his issues and yeah it wasn’t really appropriate to physically lay down with children that are not his at night—but he acted like a big baby himself. So, not sure why people automatically jump on this pedophilia train. As far as I can tell, he did his best to use his fame and money to help others, even gave someone their royalties for free. That never happens.
He had his faults but he was good.

  • This is a very tricky subject because just because someone doesn’t have children of their own but adore children doesn’t instantly make them a weirdo pedophile. Children have whimsy and wonder that most people lose by adulthood. I enjoy playing with children sometimes. They’re fun and sweet!

Pedophilia isn’t hanging out with children; it’s sexualizing children. If there wasn’t any inappropriate behavior then I don’t see a problem with it.

    • Exactly. People with kids have sleepovers and some people just love children. It’s only weird if it’s inappropriate

  • Nope. And the reason is that there simply is no evidence that he did it. Hell, there isn't even any concrete evidence that MJ was even sexually attracted to children. The LAPD raided his home three-times from top to bottom and the only sexual content they found was heterosexual porn. There was no discovery of child porn or anything that would assume he liked kids in a sexual manner.

Besides the lack of evidence, the other thing that makes me affirm his innocent is how much these victims changed their story. One year they profess with vindication that MJ didn't molest them while praising him dearly. Then the very next year (when they're scratching for cash) their entire story changes to him molesting them, which then reverts back to him not doing it the following year.

In the past 20+ years, MJ story has been the only consistent one. Everyone else's story has either changed multiple times or their credibility has been destroyed after it was discovered that they and their families had a history of theft, extortion, and perjury.

  • i tend to think that people don't pay $25million (when on the verge of bankruptcy) if they haven't done something wrong and know that mroe investigation will lead to a bigger issue.

i don't think childless adults have children sleep at their houses just for fun

there are many many wealthier celebs and yet few have the persistent number of stories and allegations around them. so i'd point to where there is smoke there is generally fire

I think ALL the parents of the alleged victims should also be considered guilty to an extent but i do think MJ (who was a hero of mine growing up) did something with these children

  • I think the evidence points us to the conclusion that he did act inappropriately with children, although whether or not it was as pervasive as claimed is not a topic I'm well enough convinced of. I don't really pay attention to all of it, I never thought of MJ as a moral thought leader, just as a guy who had some good music.

  • I'm on the fence. I believe mostly, though, that this is a set up against him. Why? Well, not because of the kids. I think it's the parents. Who in the happy hell lets their children go spend the night at a grown ass man's house? People who want to get rich because it was MICHAEL JACKSON. They would not have done that with Joe Schmoe living down the street in a double wide.

Sorry, but I feel like there are just too many inconsistencies.

  • My opinion on the matter is pretty split. Yes, Michael was different, he looked different and acted different. He loved children (maybe too much?), but like you said, there is no hard evidence that he is guilty of anything. I think releasing the documentary was pretty incondsiderate and disrespectful, considering Michael isn't present to defend himself.

  • Ok my opinion is going to be a bit long so be patient
1: I know MJ wasn't a normal person, he was weird and a bit sick (mentally ill) and that's why he became THE greatest musician ever, and he still is even after being dead for 10 years. So I do think he might've done some wrong things that in his head were right.
2: I am a victim on child abuse so I can also understand that the biggest fear a kid might have is not being believed when he/she speaks out. So I believe that yes it shit might've happened.
3: The case was tried and the family tried to sue MJ for money (correct me if I'm wrong).
4: MJ has been dead for 10 years and cannot give his side of the story so digging dirt on a dead person who cannot give a counterargument for his innocence is very wrong in my opinion, no matter what he did.

To summarize all of this, I do think he might've done something which was wrong but we can separate the person from the art and see that MJ also helped many many people with his music so it's not right to just bury his legacy based on allegations given the fact that he's dead now and cannot fight back for his reputation. The kids must be innocent but how come the parents just handover their kids to a strange man and also tried to get money out of him as the expense of their kid's childhood. I think it has been far too long and HBO as well as those people are digging this out again for money.

  • It's a money grab attempt.

But assuming it did happen, the people who should be being prosecuted are the parents, who thought it was okay to leave their young kids there unsupervised. My parents would never have done that, and it seems pretty obvious why some parents would have: money.

    • Yeah, it honestly seems pretty strange to allow your kids to sleep in a bed with an adult man. I mean, it's like touching a fucking hot stove -- what would you expect?

    • Don’t shift the blame. Assuming it did happen, Michael Jackson would be the pedo not the parents.

    • 6d

      @RainbowSmile... but he's dead

  • The odds of him being a child molester are greater than the odds of him being an adult who likes to have boys in his bed just for the fun of it. The fact that he was robbed his childhood could be an explanation for his sexual desire for children. He is stuck in his childhood but still an adult with adult urges and sexual inclinations which he takes out on his “peers”

  • I read the case. There were a lot of inconsistencies which are not usual in a case like this. Other red flags were parents willing to accept a settlement. I think he was weird and inappropriate- thought of himself as a kid. I dont believe he did it personally no. Not based on his personality (I dont know it) but based on the evidence.

Still, it annoys me that everyone is fussing about this. He was accused in 1993, went on trial 2005 and everybody hated him... then when he died in 2009 suddenly everyone forgot about everything and turned him into a saint.

  • If it's totally believable that rich and famous celebs can drug, coerce and rape hundreds of women before being caught, then why not kids? Look up Corey Feldman, Corey Haim, Kevin Spacey etc. There is a widespread problem of pedophilia in Hollywood, unfortunately, and it's backed up by other former child actors.

  • Yeah make up a bullshit story of how a man who died ten years ago sexually exploited you when you were a kid. It's all a ploy to earn money and to get fame. Degenerates should be in jail for slander. Before 2009: Won't say anything. Ten years later in 2019: Yeah he "did it". These scums are taking advantage of the Metoo bullshit. Well too bad, things aren't looking good for them. They should be publicly humiliated and shamed.

Have you ever thought that it’s not taking advantage of the Metoo movement but th Metoo movement has created an environment which they feel comfortable coming out and saying these things. The world was a different place in the early 2000s and it wasn’t as accepting for a guy to come out and admit to those things in the face of the most influential man alive. It’s embarrassing and those guys are getting hated for it.

  • No, I don't. I'm friends with his daughter on Twitter. I do not believe he touched kids. I believe he just didn't want other children to suffer the way he did. His childhood was robbed so he did a lot for children by opening up his home, and gave and gave to them. He was sensitive to their needs and didn't want them to feel alone. Just like when you have depression you don't wish that upon anyone and want them to feel loved and happy so you do anything to make them happy. Which is what Michael did. He had the money to make a park at Neverland. Gave his money, opened his home, but people misunderstood his constantly. I really do believe the media killed him. The world sabotaged him daily.

    1|2

    • Did you watched the documentary?
A lot of people have their childhood robbed and it doesn’t mean that that doesn’t play apart in why he was sick. The very fact that he had his childhood robbed could play apart in his abuse toward children.

If your next door neighbor consistently has sleepovers with little boys would you justify this? Or assume it was just because he was “childlike”?

  • Noup, if he wasn't found guilty when he was alive, I doubt he did something out of the way. For all know in the US child abuse is a serious crime, and been famous isn't gonna do anything to make things better if you are found guilty of child abuse.

  • When is the prize me because that's exactly what goes on in that industry. It happened to him by his own father and those who worked under. What makes you think he's not going to do the same thing behind closed doors. To get into that industry you got to be willing to do all sorts of things that would be considered morally questionable. Why do you think so many of them want on drugs, drinking, and end up in that situation with in hospitals, sick with something, or end up dying? And if that means touching a baby, then that's what is asked. Look up child stars from the 80s, some even called out what happened when they were young kids. They was sodomized.

    • It wouldn't surprise me*

What a lot of people said they fail to realize is that, some people, if not most that have been sexually abused, or victim of domestic violence usually would end up with a tendency to commit the same crimes as adults. And it can get worse if they was never healed properly addressed by a professional. We have to get to the direct route in the cause of the situation instead of just constantly pointing fingers, and have an understanding of why he's kind of crimes happened so that we will continue to make the same mistakes that entice these crimes. But people do not want to do that.

  • I have no clue whether or not he did what has been reported. I also don't care since he is dead. If he did everything that's being said, what does it matter now? As far as the documentary goes, it's all about making money and stirring up all this crap only increases viewership. I won't be watching it. I felt bad for Michael when he was alive because he obviously had some major issues in his youth. His family and friends were in it for the money. He never got a chance to just be a regular kid. His parents should have been there to make sure he had a normal childhood and grew up well adjusted. It was clear to all that Michael didn't like the person he was. So talented and so lost.

    • They explained it to a distressing level of detail in the documentary.

  • They are lying and here's why :

    1) His DOCTOR told us that Michael was chemically castrated to preserve to his voice, by his abusive father. Given what we know of his fathers abuse, this is plausible. Having listened to his voice, this is plausible.
Assuming that he was chemically castrated, he'd be incapable of climaxing.
    2) The "kids" here are in financial difficulty before the documentary comes along.
    3) They said they were not molested in the first case. Don't give me that "we was kids, we didn't know what we were saying" bullshit, they were in their 20's.
    4) Their statements claim they saw MJ masturbating to completion. This directly contradicts the chemical castration. Someone is lying. Given the fathers abuse and MJ's voice and the Doctors testimony, versus the contradicted statements of two financially troubled men... YES I AM GOING WITH THEM BEING LYING SACKS OF SHIT.
