And who is going to pay for his hospital bills? The tax payers? Who is going to pay for his chemo treatment? ! The tax payers? ! What about those with cancer who DIDN'T commit crimes, especially as heinous as murder? ! You're saying that hospitals should treat EVERYONE rich or poor, cirminal or non criminal, bad or good! Your heart is too good.
@SueAnon84 What if someone, who is seen guilty at that moment, gets delivered to the hospital, they refuse to treat them because he is apperently guilty, and he dies. What if, a month later, evidence proves that he was innocent? There have been people that were condemned with clear evidence, and much later it was discovered that they were innocent. Besides, all human are equal. Nothing they did gives you the right to kill them. They might have a life sentence, but then it is a life sentence. If they are sentenced to death, they have to die the official way too. Besides, in most modern countries, the tax payer pays everyones hospital bills. Why suddenly differenciate between people? They still are human. I am rather supporting death sentence then supporting the idea to not treat criminals in the hospital.
I do agree however that in certain, very rare cases, it would be fair to let them suffer, but then again, those are very rare cases and for all other case I don't think that hospitals should have the right discriminate. If you butchered a person for the sake of it, if you raped someone, if you killed or abused children, go suffer in hell for the rest of eternity. But drug dealers, thieves, even robbers, did not directly physically harm someone, and only tried to find a way to survive, albeit an illegal one. We are not living in the middle ages where thieves got their hand hacked off and where women get stoned to death for showing their hair - oh, did I just mess up middle ages and middle east? It's no longer eye for eye, teeth for teeth. We are a civilized, modern, human society.
@JMoriarty I'm sorry but I just don't agree with you. Firstly I was talking more about Public Mass Shooters where it's the evidence IS very clear that they were the ones who killed; it was even caught on camera! "Besides, all human are equal." This isn't true and appharently you live in La La Land! If this was true, there would be NO rich people nor poor! There would be NO discrimination in schools, jobs, races, etc. There is ALWAYS competition, even in dating and finding a mate so that is neither here nor there!
"I do agree however that in certain, very rare cases, it would be fair to let them suffer, but then again, those are very rare cases and for all other case I don't think that hospitals should have the right discriminate. " Like I said in my other comment, what if one of the killer's victims happend to be your dad/brother/mother/girlfriend/wife or child? Would you still feel as deeply as you do in terms of him getting chemo for free or being treated? ! Would it be okay if they used YOUR money for his medical expenses? !
In the situation in your post, he should have been left to suffer and die. He shouldn't have been treated. I know in today's society that wouldn't happen... but that's my personal belief.
The money spent on treating that killer could have been spent on a law abiding citizen.
Also there has been serial killers in the U. K. that for their first kill (s) were sent to a mental institution and given a second chance because of their rough childhood. After being in one and set free having to be believed they'd no longer kill guess what happened? It's very hard to stop an addiction like that and especially once that makes them lose their humanity.
We think of criminals of all being violent people but that is not the case. People are in for drug use, theft, multiple things that are not violent crimes. To deny those prisoners health care when they could come out and change their lives is wrong.
Those type of prison systems turn the worst looking criminals into children fast when it comes to their ability to deal with the punishment.
How come in the USA there are more killings, more repeat offenders pr capita then in Norway? The system works.
Wait a generation for when you have a less homogeneous population and get back to us.
Well the thing is also the U. S. is a larger population, different demographic, and just different all around than Norway. The prison system here in the U. S. is shit, but the one in Norway isn't about treating them either. I'd say it's worse mentally than in the U. S.
We have close to a million non Norwegians in Norway. Not a problem at all, the evil doers are the right wingers. We had just one single terror attach in Norway and it was a Norwegian born right winged extremest.
Not sure whether you're being sarcastic or not.
To clarify Norway have a total of 5 million people living there.
You said you have close to a million non Norwegians in Norway, but that can mean people from other European countries as well.
Sure it can, but a good chunk of them are not even from Europe
" Quite a few people convicted of crimes are later exonerated." I get being wrongly accused but if there's a mountain of clear evidence... "We are supposed to be civilized." Says who? ! I think the only reason people are civilized and aren't going out there being uncontrollable and crazy are the strict laws and punishments in place and people usually fear that.
Because we didn't murder INNOCENT people.
True. But again intentionally allowing someone to suffer doesn't make us any better.
It seems like they denied that right when they decided to go shoot up a local school
That's now how law sees it
Yeah let the rapist who just fucked up that girls life get that " good" treatment. And when he leaves from what ever health facility there's a chance he's gonna go rape again lol. y'all gonna keep saying shit like this till it happens to y'all.
According to youwhy arrest himJust give him death sentenceProblem solved No more waste of money on their healthcare Right?
Yeah death penalty does sound resonable.
I'm pretty sure if we keep using that shit. People would think twice before committing a crime
Very logical lmfao🙏
It's inhumane to the families of the victims to let him live.
but if u want him dead for example then it makes u no better then him its not right to kill someone just cause they killed someone else put then in jail for life but killing is wrong
Why doesn't it make me better than him? He killed and INNOCENT person. I didn't.There is no difference between killing an innocent person and an evil person?
