Have an opinion?
Try voting the non-D/-R parties. (Also, have you considered Hawai'i Rep./ Army Maj. Tulsi Gabbard?)https://www.tulsi2020.com/recordWe're adopting a bottom-up approach and already have 189 Libertarian, 125 Green, and 25 Constitution officials elected into State & local office.my.lp.org/.../profile&gid=38&force=1&crmRowCount=100&reset=1https://www.gpelections.org/greens-in-office/www.constitutionparty.com/.../With non-R/-D parties getting the highest vote-counts thus far (AND getting more candidates elected into power), let's keep-up the momentum and slowly usher-in a multi-party system! This won't be a sudden victory against a system established for centuries, but a long-term campaign with cumulative victories (IF we keep pushing forward). You can't replace the 2-party duopoly if the masses keep rewarding them with power regardless of their actual performance or level of sanity (or lack thereof).
I've not yet voted and don't think I'll bother to now that I'm old enough to vote. I've disdain for the political process and the candidates. But I dont buy all the cries that President Trump is a racist and I do think I'd vote for him over the current democratic field of candidates.
There are none. And the left always complains about the right moving farther right, when in actuality they have moved a little bit left and the left has gone way left.
Democrats are center for the most part. American right is borderline racist right now. 90% of Americans support democrat ideas and policy proposals when you explain how it would affect them. If you disagree with me I hate to say it but you are pretty much an idiot and your opinion doesn’t matter lol. And, you’re in the minority.
Not really any alternatives. Democrats are more like Communists, even republicans are heading far left. This is the massive danger of the 2 party system, and why I'd like to see my state and some of the adjoining ones split off to pre-union alliance.Oh well, could be worse, we could be Canadian. *shudder*
There ARE alternatives, but it's an up-hill struggle.Adopting a long-term, top-down approach seems to be yielding results of the non-R/-D parties. There are now 189 Libertarian, 125 Green, and 25 Constitution officials in office.my.lp.org/.../profile&gid=38&force=1&crmRowCount=100&reset=1https://www.gpelections.org/greens-in-office/www.constitutionparty.com/.../With the elected-officials count on the rise, we should have more options in future elections… if we can keep-up the momentum by voting for more non-R/-D's whenever possible. But, starting a multi-party system will be a long-term battle, given the embedded 2-party system's establishment for centuries.
Not all Democratic ideas are far left. Personally, I can't see myself voting for a lying, malignant narcissist, pussy grabbing, hate spreading racist. Same goes for his giving a massive tax break to the wealthy, with only peanuts for the middle class.
Hahahahahaha are you fucking kidding me?There was one time Bernie was going on about how he wanted the US be like Denmark and all, calling Denmark socialist. Lars Løkke (the ex-PM here, who is not socialist) said "no no no, Denmark is not socialist. It just uses its money properly." so I agree with @NorthwestRider
You mean like helping those in need? Treating foreigners with the same respect as people from your country? Making sure nobody is starving? Making medical care affordable so people are not dying because the rich are taking all the money? There was a book with most of that stated in it. It is called the Bible. So you are against the Bible?
Where did it say that anyone should pay for anyone else's medical care with the threat of force?Who gives the most to charities and the most in aid?Who said we have to feed everyone?Where does it call for open borders? The rich earned the money, but alright, still didn't see where that was mentioned. And if a book, written over centuries, that lies and says it was the word of God, and only of God, tells me those things, then yeah, I'm good not following it.
Decent Democrats are a thing of the past. Now you have: Trump VS Loons
You live in a fucking police state!Wake the fuck up!Literally none of that shit you are thinking and talking about matters, at all.
Can't stand any of them. Not one of them know the constitution. They all want to destroy gun rights and even confiscate guns. And that's just the beginning of their BS.
About time. None of their ideas are extreme or anything. It’s basic human decency. State run healthcare, higher minimum wage. Nothing about these ideas are extreme. Most developed countries have such policies.
No way in hell!!! Not `til they finally get a brain!! We already have the alternative! Isn't that good enough for you?
I’ll vote for whomever has a good chance of getting the moron out of office. I don’t care if he’s a tea bagger or a socialist. I don’t have the luxury of being picky.
Dems are too far left, and Repubs or too far right. There is no middle ground. I would vote for dirt before either of them.. probably need to vote for a monkey or zebra. They could run this country better then the clowns on either side of the political spectrum
Problem it's we essentially have a two party system. So, it's a dem, or trump. The in between is disappearing fast, but I hope libertarians can gain more control.
I agree, I think it has gone way too far to the left. In my opinion, if they want to beat Trump, they should encourage a moderate. Just my thoughts.
In a nutshell, the Democrats reject sovereignty, endorse communism and seek extermination of the white male.
Stop watching the news and realized trump is doing everything you want as a president if you don't want to live in a country where everyone is equally poor other than people tied to the government
I agree I probably would be for tradition Democrat ideas especially economically but they to me they have gone so far left with social issues and their identity politics I’d rather have president Trump
Republicans in USA is so far right wing that the rest of the developed world considers them extremists.
@TheKack Certainly. Lets just compare American liberal policies with right wing policies in Europe for example.Free socialized healthcare? Far left idea in USA but something all political parties support in Europe.Abortion laws? One country in Europe bans abortion unless it endangers the mother, two further makes exception for socio-economic reasons and the rest has virtually no restrictions.Gun ownership? I can't find any political party that wants gun laws similar to the 2nd amendment.Health and safety? a lot of American products including a lot of food is not exported to Europe because it is considered harmful such as chlorinated chicken.
Socialism, in any form, isn't really welcome here. It's not just Republicans, but a large portion of the US doesn't like the idea of paying for other people's medical care, phones, cars, or 14 kids. Nowhere in the US bans abortion. In fact, it can only be stopped if the pregnancy is in the second trimester in some places, while some allow it up until the woman is in labor. We won't go into the gun debate, mostly because those people who argue for the rest of the world don't have a grasp on what the US constitution does, or why.And putting small toys in food it's banned here. It all depends on the governing bodies, none of which is political as they are simply bureaucracies overseen by the government, but not run by it.
@TheKack Socialism is seen as a fact of life here, rejecting it is unthinkableI brought up Abortion mostly because its actually being debated in the USA and there is a strong movement to criminalize it entirely. The abortion debate is pretty much done in Europe by comparison and its a very extremist view to deviate in any way from the current established laws.As for the food and safety regulations its more a case of the freedom of companies. Over here its obvious that companies are very restricted what they can or can't put in food to a degree that they simply are not in the USA because it would infringe on the freedom of companies.
Yeah, the idea of collectivism is insane to a lot of Americans. Individual liberty, even amongst most Democrats, is still a very high priority. The idea of banning abortion isn't really considered possible. A few people complain about it, and even I don't necessarily agree with it (mostly, i don't believe it should be used as birth control. Can't take care of a kid, use precautions or don't have sex), I wouldn't want it banned. And the food issues, I'd agree with. I think we all, as individuals, need to be fully aware of what is in our foods. If I'm reading this correctly, you think government oversight should have more control over what goes into foods. Same outcome, different approach.
I got an idea for you. Since you think they are so bad, why dont you run for public office and show us what ideas you have and how it can better the country and others. Im sure you would do just fine, get a CPAC and and action committee
Until a third party emerges the two sides will only grow farther apart
I dont care to discuss politics with anyone except for my ballot, it tends to make friends not talk to you.
All politicians are Israel shills being blackmailed for CP
I'm a Republican... I'll vote independent if a Republican isn't on a ballot before I vote Democrat
Are too far left?Man, women you must be stupid and clueless. All developed nations besides the United States have Medicare for All and College for All
Just spent a vacation with some Canadians. They said that the only time you got medical attention quickly was in an emergency situation. Non emergency you waited several months and even years and maybe die before you get it. Also their tax rates are extremely high to pay for what they have.
@Surely I live in Canada and finding a family doctor can be a long wait in certain provinces, and non life threatening surgeries can be slow, but other than that you basically get all the medical attention you need, for pennies a month practically.
@AmandaYVR Not that I am disagreeing with you, but I am sure that somewhere you are paying more than pennies a month for your health care.
@Surely $37.50/m for the lowest income citizens. You can add on supplemental insurance if also going through your employer plan. And actually I have read articles that the 'effective tax rate' in Canada is much lower than the U. S. thinks it is. Because of all the corporate deductions etc. in the U. S., Canadians actually pay less taxes in the aggregate. (But that's all I'll say. I really don't want to get into an argument about it.)
@AmandaYVR I pay more than 8 times that just for my supplemental insurance!
The farthest left Democrats get is a tad bit off center.
I don't know who to vote for i think people shouldstart their own political party.
Conservative ideas are just as far right if not more.
Many ideas of the democrats would be like center to right here in the Netherlands. i’d vote for them
True.. but compared to other alternatives, democracy is far better than any other options.
You are 100 % correct. None of them are worth the time
Good For You, Girl!!! xxoo
I can’t do it either.
You can vote Libertarian.
TrumpIt's either a dam that gets in, or trump
I wouldn't vote for any of those morons either
Bernie is alright, not too extreme.
He's a socialist. Socialism is just communism-light. Lol
@TheKack No he's not.
No? What's his stance on taxes? Healthcare? His comments about Denmark's system? His thoughts on "redistribution" of people's wealth?
@TheKack It's liberalism dude, not socialism.
No. Modern progressives have hijacked the term liberal in order to garner more votes. Anywhere else in the world and a "liberal" advocates for personal freedom. Here it's used as a synonym to socialist. Now, to not be confused with socialists, true liberals have to qualify their position as "classical" in nature. Liberalism in American politics is a farce and a disgusting manipulation of the English language. The truest liberal society would be anarchy. The truest progressive society is communism.
@TheKack A classical liberal isn't anarchy wtf?Old school liberalism is for social programs, higher taxes to pay for them, less military action, more civil rights, etc.I will agree that progressives are bonkers. Fuck social justice.
I wasn't saying it was anarchy, just that, in a classical context, liberalism at its ultimate level would be.Classical liberalism is what founded the libertarian ideals, and don't really want to pay for other people's issues, but they also don't want innocent people to be injured from inaction. In that, they may have been for more social programs, but they also were for individual liberty, including being free from government threats for not paying taxes. I'm a conservative libertarian (or liberal conservative, depending on how you want to look at it), and I agree that progressives are nuts. I happen to see Bernie in that same light. Socialism only degrades a society. And his views are very much socialist. He labels it differently, but that doesn't change what they are.
@TheKack You can't have a nation without taxes and almost nobody will pay taxes if not forced.
You can't, but you also don't need to manipulate the tax system to pay for other's who may or may not pay taxes. A flat tax would be more fair reasonable, and could easily provide what we currently require. But then refunds go away, and those people who don't pay taxes (by way of refund or otherwise) would be upset.
I'd vote for Yang if I were a u. s. citizen.
won't do any Dem for sure
