Have an opinion?
As someone who has actually spent time in both, I think the issue is somewhat more nuanced than what has been portrayed so far. Although I am sympathetic with Hong Kong's protesters and I fully empathize with their fears over the extradition bill, I also cannot condone some of the violence they have dealt out in the name of "freedom".As for those Hong Kong protesters who want Hong Kong to be independent and "get out of China", they don't understand what they're asking for. Hong Kong needs China. Without China's backing, Hong Kong would suffer financially - it would deteriorate and collapse. In my opinion, Hong Kong is already falling behind China's Tier 1 cities - Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou. Hong Kong needs China a lot more than China needs Hong Kong.Under the principle of "One country, two systems", Beijing will not intervene until Hong Kong says "Come and help me!"I see the protest being protracted, with no end in sight. At the very least, until October. Why October?Well, October 1st is PRC's (People''s Republic of China) founding date... or birthday, so to speak. Only time will tell whether I'm right.
I am on China side this time but I empathize with them due to their policy. I dont think extradition bill protest is only reason but Hong kongers did not reaction properly since HongKong come back to China maybe also due to communism. Of course that is the pride with democracy. China is always changing themselves since open their door. So I dare not say that suit to their standard but I see some problems with democracy society. I think hongkongers still fuck up their society in daily life without communists meanwhile they take advantage of a city where beside hongkong in guangdong , china. So dont say that inflation, so you can not only see how hard they are on left hand without seeing their right hand. It is just their ideology without seeing chinese people who are the same with hongkongers. Life of pi is useful from buddhism's motto.
Life of Pi is useful for buddhism motto?Could u explain a bit?
I did not watch all because I knew it while I watch a little. It is a surface of chinese buddhism and it is hard to explain but no matter explain it, it did not change all. I think those believers like to read yi jing.I did not watch it too. Cause It is just a nature rules to know it. So tibetans are stupid always look for incarnated lama
I love Hong Kong but I'd have to go with China.
I'm not a fan of the control Beijing and president Xi has over it's people in general. Being that I'm pro democracy and civil rights, I support Hong Kong's traditional and current system. I do support the extradition protest because, from what I understand, that bill would undermine Hong Kong's separate laws and effectively make Beijing their defacto dictator like on the mainland.
I don't support the bill I meant
The people of Hong Kong have experienced a level of freedom that is unknown in mainland China. They understandably don't want to be extradited to the mainland where they would be dealt with by a brutal dictatorship.
Hong Kong. You get killed with a winnie the pooh bear meme in main land China. Can't imagine the other acts of disobedience.
Haha I know huh
Hong Kong of course. But we already know how it will end
Hong Kong. I’m always on the side of freedom and against communism.
Hong Kong. The Chinese government is evil.
Everybody should have their freedom.
Hong Kong, because I believe in the rule of law.
