Imagine believing this horseshit. Why aren't the other men's product companies reporting this? Also the fact that hipsters don't shave won't result in a 8 billion dollar devaluation of an international company.
You mean the reporting from that well known bastion of the left wing, The Washington Examiner?i1.wp.com/.../right041.pngI can't see anything that says they cancelled their campaign, either. (Or that it was anti-male.)
God you're dense as a brick. And at 54?
Show me somewhere reputable that says they cancelled their campaign, then, or that there's evidence that the "best a man can get" ads pushing back against sexism and bullying contributed to the $8 billion figure. You won't, because there isn't any. (If there was some, the W. E. would have shown it.)
Oh, and Wilkinson Sword's owners, Edgewell Personal Care Company, have had their shares drop from over $100 in 2014, to under $30, today. No doubt because they didn't make those adverts.ir.edgewell.com/.../share-price-center-advance
Sweetie learn to properly read stock charts. Also don't argue with people who are studying to be economists.Gillette has been steadily increasing (adjusted for inflation) since 2014, a few dips and valleys aside it's performing well since 2014. First you said the stock went to shit because of changes in shaving patterns (bullshit), now you're saying that currency fluctuations have the stock dipping for 11 out of 12 quarters (a deceptive claim). Gillette right now is 4 times what it was worth in 2014. That said, when the ad came out in January the stock kept on the same plateau that it had been on since Q3 2018. When the Q1 2019 numbers came out in march, the stock tanked after the Jan-March sales were released. You mean you tell me that had nothing to do with the ad?Now, in March, Gillette responded to the dip in sales by selling off 218 Million dollars worth of stock on the open market, this drove the stock price *UP* to about 7800 from the 6300 they were at after the fallout of the ad campaign. NOW, in may they went back to woke shit and released the transgender commercial which made people furious again. What happened by the end of may? The stock dropped in a landslide to 6700. Now they've ended the campaign and are hovering at 7000. So the first ad caused a 200 dollar loss and the second a 400 dollar loss but you mean to tell me ads and boycotts had nothing to do with it?www.google.com/search
"Sweetie learn to properly read stock charts. Also don't argue with people who are studying to be economists."Oh, honey, why not? I was telling you what Reuters and the Washington Examiner reported. Maybe their reporters finished studying to be economists. What I can do, at least, is read the title of the stock charts; the prices you're talking about seem to be the Rupee share price for Gillette INDIA! economictimes.indiatimes.com/.../...nyid-13567.cmsGillette doesn't have a share price since it became part of Procter & Gamble 14 years ago, and P&G's share price is now up around $120, from the $90 when the adverts came out. https://www.marketwatch.com/investing/stock/PGIt may be, that Gillette has pulled them down, but you haven't demonstrated that it had anything to do with that advert. (Post some links to sales figures, if you can find them.)
Ok so I see we're just going to ignore the 5-year graph... lovely.
"Gillette doesn't have a share price since it became part of Procter & Gamble 14 years ago, " - My dear God... this is why I say people like you are destroying the left. Gillette and P&G are not the same company. Gillette is a *holding* of P&G. Gillette still has it's own separate stock that is controlled by P&G. Gillette's stock price is 70+ fucking times what P&G's stock price is because P&G stock is a function of all their holdings combined. Gillette's performance accounts for around 3-4% of P&G's overall performance as a company. That said, you STILL saw P&G's stock take huge hits in both January and May, even with the current upswing that both companies are enjoying AFTER they the influx of cash they made from the $218 million sell off in March. Stop arguing, you're making a fool of yourself.
Thanks for mho!
These things are taken to an extreme though, and that’s the problem. It’s fine to look at woman, but touch and die. Women really need to start getting more aggressive when it comes to that.
That’s assault. It’s not hard to teach no means no. 🙄
Yet too many still don’t get it.
Sweetie they just made this official today after hinting at it a few weeks back. Simmer down.
I think you need to simmer down on your victim mentality every day.
You love it MzAsh... you can end it all by blocking me. Also , shitting on the left isn't being a victim. That's what SJWs do
You’re full of it
You’re not shitting on the left as much as you are constantly playing defense to the few extremists making noise in whatever junk overpopulated City you live in. Newsflash, “the city” isn’t the the whole world. There’s a lot of society out there where no one is having the problems you like you complain about on a daily basis.
Where the fuck did I mention New York in regards to Gillette. That's a company that exists all over the world. It's called Gillette International. You're not making any sense. Sometimes I like you but then at times you sound like you've been sniffing coke.
I never mentioned New York either. I do recall asking you where you see these problems regarding leftists and you’ve mentioned the city. And I believe you’ve talked about having a corporate job in the city. That’s a mistake regardless of who you are heh.
Ash. I've stated more than once that I"m heading to Europe once I graduate. I'm fed up of the USA. We're going to have Trump for another 6 years. Even if we get a democrat after that it's going to be some braindead moron like AOC or Ilhad Omar or another flavor of SJW garbage. THen Americans more and more are become thoughtless zombies. Whether it's a city or rural Iowa it's the same shit.
Well most def have a dem after Trump is done pissing on this country. Well I hope you’re happier when you leave.
Some people have the theory we might get even more Trump after 2024. Pence and win and keep Trump as an advisor. Any republican can win find a bullshit position for Trump inside the White house. If the democrats don't become level headed soon we're doomed.
That evangelical nut job wouldn’t win anyway. Ask Hoosiers how they feel about him. Even they know he’s a loon.
Again, it can be any republican. Hell, even a democrat. Tulsi Gabbard is CLEARLY closet republican. She can also win, just be a democrat-in-name-only then do all types of republican shit.
I guess we’ll see.
You think the role of businesses is to shape society with their adverstising MzAsh? Thats not even wrong, its just lol
No but I think it’s interesting when they do.
lols you are full of shit.Quote:I’s about time a popular business call traditional masculinity out on some its bs
And? I don’t expect them all to do that. I would’ve gone harder.
"I guess Gillette’s products aren’t for sensitive skin after all." At least a dozen "Toxic femininity" responses were taken down from Youtube the weekend the Gillette ad was released. A common trait of what men call "Toxic femininity" is that women like to shutdown the dialog when they're argued into a corner or when they're legitimately criticized with criticisms they've used on other. Basically women love to talk shit but play victim and shut you down the moment you hurl the same shit back at them. I've seen it a million times and you KNOW you've seen it to. The petitioning of youtube to remove responses to the Gillette ad and videos outlining Toxic Femininity is EXACTLY that stereotype being proven true. That said, let me ask you this. Who's more sensitive and weak - the men who ranted about the ad but never ONCE tried to take it down? Or the women who mocked and berated men as "weak" for being offended BUT STILL went to youtube pissing and crying to have Toxic Femininity videos removed that entire weekend?

In other words, according to them overall market demand has decreased while competition has increased. Net result is a loss
So no, you cannot say “I told you say” unless their likely internal numbers can be demonstrably discredited based on emotion
GOd you're simple
@ronaldo75Question for you.If a company blames a loss on less demand due to appreciation of the currency and lower shaving frequency, along with increased competition, does that mean they are actually saying that it is because of their commercial that they lost money?Question for whether you can actually read English
I mean, you did literally say they admit that it is because of the commercial, right? Or are those official releases just fake?
Oh you want to talk economics? Please let's do that. First off all what decreased this demand and why was it more pronounced in Q2 and Q3 2019? Let's start there. Also they never give details as to what this "lower frequency" means nor can anyone identify competitors that equal to 8 billion in sales 1) over the next 5 years or 2) with a demand curve trend that starts before the commercials. So the downward demand curve starts in Q1 2019 which is when the commercials came out. No new competitors have a out-of-the-ordinary sales trends before the commercial and literally millions of people boycotted gillette in 2019 ... buuuuut it's not the commercial. Ok breh
Alright. Should we start at the absolute basics of economics then?Correlation does not imply causation. So even if demand decreases around the time of the commercial, that is not solid evidence for the decrease in demand. That is basically rule number one in econometrics.Second, competitors need not have equal sales to 8 billion. A decrease in supply by company A does not mean that that decrease is offset by company B. If market demand decreases due to e. g. currency fluctuations (like they mentioned) the market itself could lose billions in value. So a) assuming that a decrease in demand is because of the commercial because they happen around the same time is fallacious reasoning and b) there has to be zero need for decreased demand for Gillette to be offset by increase in demand by others. Then again, this reply of yours does say that you admit they don actually say that their loss was because of the commercial. You just think it is a cover-up, which makes the question wrong.
"Correlation does not imply causation." - you used that out of context. If you're weak on basic econ 101 just let me know.
Oh and this also going to be economics 101.Changes in sales usually do not have a singular cause. It is far more likely that currency fluctuations and various other factors have a significant effect. It could very well be that the decrease in sales could be explained by the indicators name for 80%.It is extremely unlikely that this commercial, even if it has a statistically significant effect on sales, can be blamed for the entire decrease in sales.
@ronaldo75Oh it was definitely not used out of context. You’re gonna need some sort of sophisticated research to prove that it was actually the cause for decline in sales
"Changes in sales usually do not have a singular cause. " - So logic isn't your strong suit either. If P and Q, then Q is false? What? So if there are multiple reasons for a trend then the reasons you don't like aren't partly to blame? Dude just stop.
"Or are those official releases just fake?" - If you at 19 are the future of this country. We're fucked. Us millennial are a bunch of losers but Gen Z are reaaaaaaalllly looking bad going forward a few years.
@ronaldo75Oh I did not say that the advertisement did not have any effect, rather that it is entirely possible other factors potentially explain a far greater part of the loss than the advertisement. You just cannot get it through your skull that an 8 billion loss is unlikely to be attributed to a singular reasons, one that happens to be convenient for you. That is clearly visible in you basically attributing the entire loss to the advertisement with the “I told you so”. I did not say that other reasons ought not to be mentioned, but you clearly do support that, as you basically claim that the entire loss is because of the advertisement, in spite of reasonable major factors likely having a significant impact. Logic clearly is not your strong suit. Oh and the gen z complaints are pretty unwarranted. Don’t whine so much.
