i know the case well as i was in the same area of spain when it happened and everyone was taliking about it
Probably lack of evidence they can not charge the parents with a crime.
its glaringly obvious if you leave a toddler alone its neglect and the evidence speaks for itself. hence my confusion and that of many others here in the uk who would never leave a child alone at home, let alone in a foreign apartment just to go for drinks with friends
I do not know why they were not charged but I think they only went out to a restaurant close by when she went missing. It not like they abandoned her.
well clearly it didn't work out so well so they can hardly claim it wasn't serious just popping out for a meal down the road... its widely felt amongst many they werent charged due to both being doctors and you have to ask if they lived on a council estate if they would be in court rather than getting book deals
Maybe they had good lawyers
yeah its amazing what money can buy
Yes, if they were doctors like you say they could probably afford the best lawyers
think is i dont even think it got to the point they needed lawyers... it was more about the status of the job that no one even questioned them about neglecting their parental responsibilities and infact a fund was set up to support them taking the Spanish authorities to court for not going beyond normal police procedures in trying to find the girl
thanks for mho
