Ehh that really depends also on situation and state. Some places like louisiana have the stand your grown law but even then like I live with my 87 year old grandmother and have been told by state and local leo if a person armed or un armed breakers into the house kill them. But normally it has to be in the house but places like California it's a very thin line you need to walk on
