Well for starters USA is utterly fuckt so they got their work cut out for them. Secondly we have Mexico.
That tells me absolutely fuck all.
*sigh* Of course it does not. Alright then, lets get into some facts. *clears throat*Mexico is ranked 68'th out of 136 in the world economic forum on gender equality. Talking about the problems Mexico is having would take all day. Moving on to Canada.Women in Canada still have a higher risk of experiencing violence and sexual assault. Men in Canada also have problems coming out about experiencing sexual assault because of the male stereotype. Women have issues gaining leadership positions. Overall good progress has been made but its not finished.USA.. While not as bad as Mexico its still a dumpster fire. Most notably we have issues with attacks on womens rights to abortion and there are still issues with integrating women into the military. Both men and women face similar issues as those in Canada but worse. There is also a lot of sexism going around, especially with the election of Trump.
Yes? How can we stop crime? Oh wait...
Also, USA, the abortion thing is true, but what are you talking about in the military?
The integration of women into the military has been very slow and meet with a lot of criticism. Ranging from claims that they do not physically qualify to them disrupting the unity and how guys would give preferential treatment to women and compromise mission integrity. All kinds of nonsense. As such women only makes up 14% of the active military and are still not included into the draft. It took fighting tooth and nail to finally get the official approval to open up all combat roles for women in 2016 although even though its technically legal now its far from being properly implemented. As for stopping crime I am not sure I understand what you mean.
I'm saying that the point about violence against women in Canada. That issue is not in the hands of feminism, but in the police force, because feminism is not the ones that stop the issue.
I can agree with your military opinion, if we are to be equal, we need a draft for women too in the USA.
Police and the justice system are public servants, its up to people to pressure them to uphold an acceptable standard. If they can not meet expectations there needs to be a reform.
And they are upholding a good standard, at least in NA.
Woops, I missed what you were saying.
Is that why police keep shooting people? I disagree with your high standard.
Police shoot people in dire situations, like if a gun or weapon was pulled on them.
If that was even half true then there would be a lot less people shoot who are unarmed.
Do you really believe everything you hear on the media?
Are we going to go down that whole rabbit hole? Ever heard of the "Brain in a vat" scenario? Unless you are a bored philosopher or unless you want to be paranoid to the point of being worthless you have to accept that at least some of what we experience is true some of the time.Saying that "Media is wrong/lying" is a big fucking claim especially since you dont know what Media I watch or what evidence I have. If you want to only rely on what you yourself experience then not only can you not experience everything you need in such a wide world as this but what you do experience is very likely to be misleading and biased because of its small sample size. After you get over yourself and actually accept that you need the collective experiences of other people to inform your world view and knowledge of world events you will find that no matter the source there are common themes such as how unarmed people keep being shoot and killed by police in USA.
Some media is biased.
And, cmon man! It's not like unarmed people are killed by police every week!
Of course some media is biased, in fact that makes them even more reliable since if you can identify a medias bias you are well equipped in compensating for it and get some very accurate information out of said media as opposed to a media source where you dont know where they exaggerate or outright lie.As for how many people get shoot by the police in USA? Several people a day as it turns out. Of course I dont have much information on it but looking at a few cases there seams to be enough unarmed for once a week.
