Why is abstinence always pushed as: “The only form of birth control that’s 100% effective”?

It’s an extremely inaccurate statement. Actually, forcing abstinence on teenagers instead of giving them proper sex education leads to higher teen pregnancy rates.

I don’t know why super religious people tell women this either. A woman could be abstinent, but still end up pregnant from sexual assault in spite of her abstinence. Or from sperm donors, which doesn’t count as sex.
