We also wear poppies leading up to today (and of course we wear them today), that represent the sacrifices made not only in WWI, but in every war. It’s a shame to see less and less people doing so in the last few years though.
Some guy is going a around downvoting everyone. Some people have no sense of appreciation.
I know. The poppy thing isn’t done in the USA. Isn’t that a reference to some poppy fields that were battlefields in WWI?
Yes, and I believe it’s only Commonwealth nations that have it as a symbol.
I think it’s a cool tradition
Thank you and thank you for your support
Thank you for selecting me as the a MHO 😊
I as a vet respect you and I liked your response. I like to think vets can appreciate other vets regardless of country
I had the honour of representing the Merchant Navy at our towns Remembrance service on Sunday. Massive honour and extremely emotional. All of us veterans, all over the world, are connected and we need to look after each other
Yes we do

We need more presidents like Eisenhower.
Thank you for your support
Thank you for your service!
I’m going to Golden Corral later
If my dad was a vet do i get free food?
@jasmine7o2 for your loss I think you should but I don’t know
Smh :/ I wanted free food too lol. But thanks for your service.
Sorry for your loss. I probably think it wouldn't hurt to ask
<3 I sure will.
I agree with you! I can honor my friend, because I know what he did while he was in service.I'm not gonna honor a stranger! I don't know what kind of soldier you were. You could have raped women or just been there to clean toilets for all I know.It pisses me off that Americans just blindly support the military! They haven't even fought for OUR country since WWII.I HATE how entitled they are, and think they're better than everyone else just because they served.I have veterans both active and retired of all ages coming through my work and they're also so rude to me for no reason, and get annoyed when I ID them, even though it's regulation. They feel they want special treatment and tell me how to do my job! Next time I will tell them, "You had YOUR orders in the military I have MY orders!"I don't care if people think I'm unpatriotic! I have absolutely no respect for soldiers. I agree with you. Respect is earned! I'll respect you if you are nice to me, I won't respect you if you're gonna be a dick for no reason.I hear Americans telling soldiers, "Thank you for your service," and the soldiers don't even acknowledge them. I don't care if you have PTSD! Don't take your frustration out on the guy in the kiosk who has done NOTHING to you! Fucking scum!
Oo & i just read the comment below the question welll congrats & THANK U for your service mr (':
Thank you for your support
They deserve the title Greatest Generation. The guys that landed at Normandy, Tarawa, Iwo Jima etc are my hero’s. They give me courage anytime I’m afraid to push through the fear just like they did
Yeah, my dad did Normandy, the battle of the hedge rows, the St. Lo breakout, the Battle of the Bulge and the Hurtgen forest, all the way to the crossing of the Rhine and occupation of Germany. His division had something like 150% casualty rates and his was considered one of the most dangerous jobs, a runner, who carried messages back and forth from the front lines to forward division headquarters. He got hit a couple of times but nothing serious enough to get sent home. He used to tell some stories that sounded horrific but he always made them sound humorous, except to chuckle and say, "Boy, was I scared." He even mentioned shitting his pants one time while getting shelled as if it was funny. The only think that really broke him up was when an 88 shell came through the wall of a stone farmhouse that he was in and killed his beloved captain. I've read books about what those guys went through but it's hard to even imagine.
None of us can imagine
Thank you very much
I’m sorry for your loss
Ok mamas boy
Happy Veteran's Day 😇🙏🇺🇸
I’ve never understood the hoopla either but my sister explained it’s because we volunteered is what matters
You see, that's the thing. It pisses me off when people just blindly say, "Thank you for your service", without even knowing what you did.And sometimes they thank you and don't even hear a "You're welcome"
@ZeussLightningBolt since you removed my comment I’ll try a nicer way. Yeah but you’re too much of a vulva to volunteer aren’t you?
I didn't remove ANYTHING! I haven't been online in 10 hours.
Accusing me of something without evidence isn't helping me change my impression of you guys.
I did not know you were a vet. I had dinner at Golden Corral
My family is I am a survival training school guy
@LoliRosa17 Begone thot
Thank you. I’d do it all over again in a heartbeat
Enjoy your day.
Thanks, you too
