Of course. This is the kind of architectural style Europe should preserve. By building more of these soulful and delicate patterns all around us.

Enough with the disgusting post modern flat squares. With an overuse of glass and cheap concrete.


I saw that the Germans have started covering up their ugly mistakes in Berlin. When I was there this summer, I took some pictures.



First building is a hotel in Trondheim, Norway.

Love it. It is not the sterile, post-modernist glass and metal rubbish that usually afflicts the eye in most cities these days.

There is actually something to look at. Form and not just lines. There is nuance and elegance. A sense of history and color.

Short answer - find that architect and give him/her a Nobel prize. He or she is a hero for the ages.

I think it's definitely very nice that buildings with "older style" is still being built.

Kind of a mash-up of features of both Renaissance (1500s) and some Neo-classical (1800s), but done very well.

I appreciate it as I do many styles.
