It's not more dangerous than in other cities in Europe. I feel pretty safe In Moscow, of course you can find some of assholes but it's ok.And russian men are more polite in some way like they will open a door for you, offer you a seat, they will walk you up to your door to make sure you are safe and so on
That’s good to hear :) we have a lot of misinformation out here, like that Russian dudes are rape happy or are too drunk to behave themselves. I figured it was nonsense but I didn’t want to insult my friend by asking him.
It's good to hear that you have common sense)But still you should be careful at night and at bars and clubs. Still we have some strange people out there
Same thing just about everywhere. Thanks :)
Hmmm, never heard of it.But maybe you are talking about closed cities. Those one have a military factories or something. They also closed for us.My dad is a lorry driver he couple of times visited those cities. They are in the middle of nowhere, and he said they are even a city to enter it you drive through some mountain and to exit you drive for another so none can remember the road.
Well I as a US citizen need special permission in addition to a Visa to visit Chechnya, Dagastan (that area that borders Georgia), and the far, far east. What are they hiding there?Even in St. Petersburg, there are only certain streets tourists can walk on, at least with they arrive by ship without a Visa, and they're supposed to be accompanied by a guide.
Oh, I didn't know that. If we are talking about Chechnya and Dagestan they aren't the safest places and there can be formed groups of terrorists. So maybe that's the reason so you won't join terrorists. About far east as I already said the only reason that I can think of is military factories. And it's strange about Saint Petersburg, but I am sure if you get visa you can go to the every street in that city
Okay. Thank you.And actually the St. Petersburg one isn't really being enforced. But I don't know why they're so paranoid about people venturing off the tourist path.
Also, is it true that Putin doesn't give a shit about the people and cities in the far east?
Probably yeah, I've been to some places. Like big cities are ok, but once you drive like 30 km from them it's a places that has been even forgotten by God. To go to school kids need to walk 7 km per day and add to that nonexistent roads and freezing cold it's hell. They have no gas, have troubles with electricity and average salary is 7 thousands of rubles (which is around 100 dollars)
I know, I saw that. It's crazy. To be honest, I'm surprised it hasn't broken up any further. With a country the size of Russia, it's impossible to keep resources and order everywhere.
It's not about the size it's about corruption and our rotten political system
One of my history professors said it's about size. Thar it's hard to govern such massive territory. But at least the Russians let countries become independent, unlike China. So you're not a fan of Putin?
Totally not his biggest fun, although it's strange cause my mum in his political party
LolI like him despite all the media propaganda against him
I hate him despite all the propaganda that exalt him
It's kinda fun
Why? What did he do?
He did too much, he's 'reign' is all my life long, and now he wants to change our main low. The corruption is so strong right now, you know the rich one are only getting richer and poor people are only getting more poor. The economy is so dependent on gas and oil and other resources, our medical system and educational system are so outdated. The small business is constantly suffering and I only can go on
So it's economic stuff? I know. Putin is always the most powerful man in Russia regardless of whether he's president or prime minister. Hell, I think he's the most powerful leader on earth right now. Do you guys have term limits in Russia? He's practically a dictator at this point. 😂😂😂How much more does he have left in office?
That's why I don't like him, they say we have a democracy, but it's not like this hell it not even aauthoritarianism it's totalitarianism. He prolonged his 'reign' till 24, it was supposed to be his last time but now he wants to change our main law so he can be chosen once morr
Actually, I can't say bad stuff about our politicians because our law prohibits that. So now I am breaking a law😂
And about economy it's bad. Only next month 1 dollar was 65 and now it's 80. I hate it. Most people are so poor. And I am not saying this become I live in bad conditions. I live in Republic in Russia were economy is ok, people can make nice money. But it's more of exception
I thought people hate him because of his policies on journalism and homosexuality
I'm glad he threw Pussy Riot in jail though. That band was an ear sore😂😂😂
That's also true but for me main reason is economy, and Pussy Riot yeah. Their actions are disturbing
LolAt least we agree on that But he seems to care about women's health

Yeah, some people are very religious. Especially muslim regions they have pretty strong traditions. But new generation is pretty much opened too a lot of things. But for the most of us it's still hard to except changes
But in some way I love conservatism as a matter to save traditions. In my family we cherish some of our trad8
Yet your government is very backwards and conservative
Conservatism is terrible and authrortian
I can totally agree about government they can't adopt a law about domestic violence which huge problem in Russia because they think that it will hurt family. Like it's normal to beat your wife and woman should accept that in order to safe family
Sounds like Russia is like Saudi Arabia or Iran
We too have muslim regions and believe Russian orthodox Church does some messed up shit. Not so long ago one member of the church said that we shouldn't teach girls mathematics we only need to teach them how to treat men, take care of children and clean up the house
Another reason why Atheists must rule
Maybe. But I think everyone one needs to believe in something it can be God or believe in his nonexistence, or universe or anything really. But when it comes to religion I don't think this system is needed like it's a conversation between you and God why do we need other people who say what we should or shouldn't do
Sorry , I am too talkative today. Too much on my mind😅
It's not that bad in big cities, but only in small circles. But even in Moscow it's bad among other nations. And it's not safe enough to demonstrate or even about it in other regions. We even have a law that makes LGBTQ+ propaganda illegal and of course we have cases when people get hurt because of their orientation. I know people who decided to move to another country because they were 'bullied ' and they even went to police where were told that those people who beat them up were right cause that people shouldn't exist
See, that's horrible. It's not as bad as in other countries but those people do not feel safe. It's what the U. S. would be if the Conservative idiots had their way.
And Russians in general are very sexist towards women
@NorthwestRider Oh I can talk about it for centuries. But I never experienced sexism and I work and study in the field that always have been considered as male speciality
It depends on the temperature. If it's -5 to -10 I will wear a light winter jacket, but it would cover knees, some hat and gloves, scarf are always good. And beneath the coat you can wear anything, I can even wear mini skirt but with long socks. If it's -15 to -25 I will change my coat to a warmer one and wear some warm shoes, I don't like the ones that made with leather. And this coat will be just above my ankles. And beneath you can wear anything, but trousers a more warm, and you can wear some warm tightsAnd if it's colder, I wear another coat which is warmer, mittens, scarf, hat is necessary. And it's better if you cover your nose with a scarf. Amd beneath, tights, leggings, jeans (or trousers are better), one t-shirt, a long sleeve and a sweater, socks and traditional shoes
And some woman, especially older ones wear fur coats with fur hats
wow! I would freeze in a heavy winter jacket at 0C!!! Russian women must be cold blooded...
No, we are very hot blooded, that's why we are warm in that type of weather
