plenty of millennial are marrying. They're just marrying later, and they couldn't care less about diamonds.
Why can’t we assume that men will have the ability to raise babies in the future? :)
@MrNameless We are talking about a baby boom here, maybe you didn’t understand. While some are getting married, the general trend is that marriage rates are plummeting. So as an example boomers had a marriage rate of 91% and while at least 25% of millennials are expected to never get married. Of those that do get married many may do so after 40. So just so we’re clear we’re talking about making babies in large numbers like 5 per family and 91% of people doing that, not 60-70% of people having 1.5 kids which is a negative birth rate. Do the math buddy.
@wittymilf because a kids needs two parents both a masculine and a feminine role model to give them balance. When you take one or the other out of the picture and you mess them up in one way or the other.
Agreed :) but I think women can go to work and dads can stay home dad.
Surely men are capable of such things? We know women are capable of going to work.
@wittymilf Both moms and dads can go to work. Kids spend most of their days in daycare/preschool/K-12 school. If the money is there, there are trust worthy people that can watch your kids while you work. It is just important to be there in the remaining hours and put in the quality time and raise them right.
How kids you raise right? 😂☺️.
This inspired a question
You don’t sound like much of a fan of children...
I have three daughters and a grand daughter. One of my daughters is adopted coz she had a shitty family. Raising kids is my life, the most important thing any human does and literally the reason we live.
You don’t have to give me the greeting card line. You just pushed for men to be the primary to raise children for like 10 posts in a row. Actions speak louder than words.
My husband had a very bad accident 14 years ago, he was no longer able to work, and in order for us to not lose our home I needed to step up and go to work, he needed to step up and raise the girls. I was proud of him, and also disturbed by how other men made him feel like his worth had deminished now that he was just a dad. this was sad
His actions, and male reactions definitely spoke volumes. Ahreed
I’ll just expect the covid kids to be a smaller generation, like the millennials.
Okay boomer :P
i am sure there will be a dip in the fertility rate that is caused by covid.
I’m not really talking bout rapid breeding scenario, just the next ‘term’ to used for a generation name... like baby boomers, gen X, millennials.. Covid kids.
I don't think that this situation is significant enough for any generational term.
It has shut down the entire world... not even a world war has done that before.
Not correct but I'll just let you go on with your day.
You don’t have to, I got nothing to do:) . I just popped off to google to do some research on what causes a generation change, obviously this post was just for shits and giggles, coz I, like you don’t think it’s a big deal... but who knows this could actually be an event that changes ‘generation name’ 😳🤷♀️

That's notoriously untrue. Why do the poorest people have the most kids? They won't keep them, I expect many of the abandoned pups will either starve or be trafficked, but many of them will be born.
@meesegoMoo go check birth rates during recessions
Go check birth rates in extreme poverty. The people least affected by this rescission, at least at the poor end, are doubtless shaking their teardrop campers as we speak.
@meesegoMoo people who are unemployed and live in poverty have the same amount of free time they always do. There will be a dip as a huge pool of millennials feels too financially insecure to have a child right now
Let's see. I hope you're right but we're living in a much more selfish generation now.
@meesegoMoo I don’t hope I’m right. The entire developed world is suffering from low birth rates.
Actually, during times of poverty, natural disasters etc people tend to have more children.I see this question very commonly asked by Western people. Why do poor Asian and African countries have so high birth rates? They usually think it's because these people are just stupid in general or don't have education or access to birth control, but that's honestly a very lazy conclusion and when you think a little deeper you will realize that it's not that simple.I'll simplify it for you though. If you lived in an environment where the likeliness of your child growing up to becoming a functioning adult (aka surviving and thriving) is one in five, your primal instinct would naturally be to have at least five children. When you live in an environment where every child you have will have a good living standard, you don't have to worry about any of that, so you can get away with having less children and even no children at all.Yes recession decreases birth rate, only when you have enough resources to be able to live through it by yourself.
SARS didn’t shut down the globe or cause economic downturns worldwide though.
Kinda did for a while people just forgot it. It did have less of impact due to not spreading as much. But to me same thing. Also in reailty Hiv kills more people every year and causes more gobal deaths than Covid ever could so what we gonna call everyone Hiv kids lol. Cause that honestly has more of impact.Just people are focusing on this more cause it spreads easier even tho it will kill far less and honestly have less impact then hiv ever could. I don't want to say it's overaction but just wait a year or 2 when everybody forgets this happend. It's how media works we move on after it's over and this will be over. Just like how sars supposedly just went away even tho we made no cure.
Hmm, I just lost my job. And the rest of the country who hasn’t lost there job.. has taken a 20% pay cut including the government. I realise much like the plague or the Spanish flu, the world will move on, but it’s not going to be the same for me for a very long time. I’m now just trying to figure out how to not loose everything I’ve worked for over the passed 20 years. At least I’m not a business owner so it’s just my home I stand to loose and not my business. It could be worse. I started out this journey like you, sorted mildly amused by the hype and watching all the reactions like I was in a weird surrealMovie where things seemed to be over dramatised globally, and it may be that over dramatisation that has actually created some of these current life changing issues... I mean it would have been less dramatic had 30% of the planet just been left to die,.. immoral sure, but the economic impact which will be the lasting impact would have been a blip compared to what we now face.
Yeah i agree with that 100%. It's honestly how they have reacted to it. And tbh i doubt it would of still had that many deaths if we let jobs still running. Since the deaths have been in the old which maybe sad but old should never be priorty of young and well the entire goverment same for people with already bad health problems. And most people working like yourself probably don't have high risk or any from it. If they just quartined old people and risk people all that would happen is healthy would of got a fluu season which already happens anyway.I do feel for you losing your job. And money loses. But that really is due to mass panic i think more than actaul pratical senses. But the world will get back to normal just peoplehave to be stuck in losses rn. But we have had many losses in the past and we don't really remember them after a while. Apart from the few who still joke about the great depression lol. I am just gonna wait until they do things right but the goverment is rare to do so. So the same mistake will repeat again. Or something and the loop starts over. A bit of a depressing view i know but seems like this has been a reailty for a while now but people still get shocked when something bad happens which happend in the past. And we knew could of happend again.
You are very witty ☺️👍🏾
I feel that lockdown has created , more resilient and resourceful behaviours in my kids, and a greater appreciation for actually human interaction.
I hope so
Im trying my best not to laugh at how smart that was
Many women will choose to get pregnant in this period of time I guess :)

Oh wow are they really
Yup. I know of several.
also wow, is this just for marriages?
No. I know of several marriages tanking and of plenty of couples who ended during this lockdown. One couple being ‘Us’. I was kicked to the curb in a damn text.
Life goes on, right?
It does love, it really does. Did you guys live together if you don’t mind me asking?
Nope. We did not.
There might be a lot of newborns with asthma problems
